Pep Guardiola - 2024/25

I think his tactics have been fairly shit at times this season. But he was pretty much bob on tonight - right to bring Ake back in, right to play Stones over Kovacic as the 6, right to have the fullbacks giving us extra bodies in midfield, right to use Grealish to look after the ball, right to prioritise keeping the ball and moving them around. Only things you can criticize him for are perhaps starting De Bruyne and definitely leaving him on for too long. Otherwise, he’s been let down tonight by players making fuckheaded mistakes. Gvardiol giving the ball away stupidly for the first, Ederson’s wank kick on the second, Kovacic’s shit poke at the ball and Lewis fucking about on the third.

I’m gagging to be proven wrong, but I’m not sure Pep is going to be able to get his mojo back. Not showing many signs of it either which is most worrying.
We were the usual Ederson disasterclass away from beating the best team in the world 2-1. His mojo hasn't gone anywhere, his players have.

What is he supposed to do about unbelievable individual errors every game?
Coach it out of them ? how are these multi millionaire top professional players making mistakes like that every single game for months now ? why do we constantly collapse after conceding a goal ? why can't he make them calm again ?

In any one off game, one can find excuses with players.

But this has happened all season in way way too many games.

Mental collapse and mistakes in the last bits.

Maybe Pep is unlucky, or maybe the subs and mentality are a problem.

Its his job to find the solution.

This was a poor Real Madrid side. Two midfielders and a guy from their B team in the defence and Dani Ceballos in midfield.

One of the hardest things he’s going to have to do is oversee the break up of this team. That will entail breaking strong bonds of loyalty to players that have run through fire for him. Not sure he’s ever done this before but it has to start this season and not next.

sadly this is gonna be his first ever season when not reaching last 16 of CL.
this is down to us finishing only 22nd of 24th in league stage which allowed us to face Real.

this is way worse than those losses vs Monaco, Spurs, Lyon in later stages. we dont get to later stages first time under Pep. this also cost in somewhat 30-40m in revenue at least. not getting back to CL next season could be even worse.

very bad game today, only difference in the PSG and Arse game as tonight Real wasnt that efficient front of goal. if they are just a bit better at finishing its exactly the same collapse, and we lose 2-5 or similar.

maybe if we pay the RC for Nico in 1st day of the window rather than last day he could have get comfortable in January and play this game too and help us.

Really? I thought tonight was an example of Pep doing the unexpected and it working quite well. Can't legislate for 3 players coming off injured.
