Nobody is saying he's infallible or that today wasn't poor, it's the idea that he no longer knows what he's doing that's stupid. Or that he's somehow past his best.

Pep is clearly past his best, and is making boneheaded mistakes.

Problem is football moves quickly, we need to evolve, teams have sussed out our possession tactics and play.

He is not stupid by any means but he is being blinding by his loyalty to these players and it will end bad . He now needs to stay at least a season so we can get the best in to replace him and that’s not a quick fix .

possession for just having possession is. Not doing anything with possession. Slots dippers have possession but they transition quickly with it.

Passing side to side teams just now defend deeper keep their shape .

I was shocked when Aina the forest right back went on a podcast and said Arsenal and Liverpool are the hardest to defend against as they constantly move and have runners, where as city all we have to do is stay in our shape and just wait.

Having a relatively poor season because all your defenders and best player were injured for months and still being 3rd in the league and in the Cup Final isnt a sign of a guy whose best days are behind him.

Means absolutely nothing if we don't finish in the top 5. Which is now in doubt after today's result. We have 2 tough league games which we could quite easily lose if today is anything to go by...

I thought we'd done the hard work to qualify but no, Pep had other ideas to deviate from the players and system which had provided us with a good run of results.

He is as much to blame as any player for that result today, results lie at the manager's door and always will.

But he has definitely, even from his own words, made more mistakes this season in not finding the solution to some problems.

His best days are behind him, only because his best was so far above everybody else, 100 pts, treble etc.

He was THE best manager.

He is still ONE of the best managers currently.

But he is not THE best currently.

Again, i repeat the Palace 11 is the closest to our team team this season. And we ahould start with that template and tweak as necessary. With that in mind, here is potentially our best team:

Nunes ( for Lewis)
Dias

O'Reilly

Gonzo
Kovac
Gundo/Bernardo ( either works but not both)
Kevin

Marmoush
Haaland

Even if Haaland made it slightly more complicated you could play around him with chemistry. Again, our best

I repeat the Palace 11 is the closest to our best team this season.

You can substitute Nunes for Rico. And Bernado for Gundogan. They are equally fine. But other than those 2 interchangeable positions, everyone else starts the same except for Haaland for Mcatee.
