I actually agree with that. 2009-11 they were the best thing I've ever seen in football and up there with the 1991-93 and 1996-98 Chicago Bulls in sport.peter.evans said:KippaxCitizen said:Hilarious! Guardiola = pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass pass.....ZZZZZzzzzz
The greatest club football team of all time Barcelona under Guardiola
But - like the Bulls, who had the man who was as good at his sport as Phil Taylor or Tiger Woods have been at their sport in their prime, in Michael Jordan - Barça had some phenomenal players playing under him. One of the greatest ever football players Messi, one of the best double acts in midfield of all time Iniesta and Xavi, one of the best centre halves in the world Puyol and players like Henry Eto'o Yaya and then Villa Pedro Busquets to boot.
Not taking anything away from Guardiola because Rijkaard and Vilanova didn't win as much as he did with those great teams. I just feel like he's become so engrossed with possession it's got to the point of a real OCD obsession. Where against most run-of-the-mill teams, they hammer, but up against better quality they aren't cutting edge enough to score enough goals. Bayern don't have the quality of Iniesta and Xavi right in their prime and certainly don't have a Messi. So they have to be more direct.
He has to have them more direct in the second leg against Madrid or they're going out, after Heynckes won a treble with them last season.
