Surely if there was potential to be banned we would pull the trigger anyway then? I’m actually staggered that we didn’t go ahead with another DM last summer? To be fair Mendy was fit again and delph and been great last season as well but the midfield area always was the priority yet we made a vanity signing in mahrez? Especially when we had sterling, sane, Bernardo, Jesus, Diaz or De Bruyne that could play wide? Absolutely bonkers

Hope the last 2 games have caused us to rethink our Jan transfer business...the worry over Fern (lack of cover) in the summer has now been confirmed.

We tried very hard to get Jorginho but we're stitched up by the player and Napoli. As he was the number 1 priority it would be a fair assumption that there was no other target either available or met the recruitment blueprint. the Fern role is extremely difficult to replace as is being shown.

In hindsight a LB would have been good and maybe we would have got one if either Zinchenko or Delph had left

Genuine question, as for my sins I don’t really follow our teams below first team, but do we have any specialist DM players who can put a foot in and also pass the ball at the club? Who plays at DM for us?
