It's true though - despite the stereotype, he only got 7 yellow cards in La Liga last season. When you consider that La Liga has 3x more yellow and red cards than the Premier League (that isn't an exaggeration, it really does) it's the equivalent of about 2-3 yellow cards over here. He only got 1 yellow card in the Champions League too and 0 red cards in nearly 60 games for club and country. Yes, he is a **** and loves to get involved in handbags but his disciplinary record improved last season. He'd be a good Lescott replacement IMO, but the numbers being reported are far too high. £12million to £15million would be ideal.

this post makes a lot of sense, god I hate you LC

somebody that see's sense :)

if it is true that we are after him he brings what our defenders do not have and that is a vast amount of champions league experience and can see why he may be a target for us!

Képler Laveran Lima Ferreira aka Pepe is a right footer, in all the clips I've seen he uses that foot to kick and stamp on the opposition players anyway. He'll be a real bonus for our refereeing fraternity if he comes here though, they're probably sharpening their pencils already.

Keep in mind that Pepe is not only good defender, he is very good with the ball too and could easily play in midfield too. Maybe not Barcelona one but many of them out there. Has that long pass in himself too.

He played a DM when Bosnia played Portugal in WC qualifying play off and he ripped us apart on his own. We were free scoring team at that moment but he broke all our attempts in those 2 games.

He does not look like someone who gets a lot of yellow or red cards to me

It's a relief that our transfer operations are now in the hands of professionals.

I trust their intuition, their experience, their knowledge, their strategy.

If they sign him for a fair and realistic price, then so be it.

We are joint favourites at 2/1 (with the Rags) because we will be starting the season with a squad that will be noticeably stronger and helmed by a coach that will deliver results.

It's going to be a great summer contemplating the prospects of a silkier, coherent attacking style that justifies the betting odds.

For all the Mourinho hype, they are only third favourites to lift the title at 9/4.

This interest in Pepe does make me wonder if there's more to these Calf problems of Kompany's than we realise. If Kompany was out for any long period we'd need an experienced back up.
