Pep's Buys - Worst and Best?

I'd say the bloke who kept him out of the French side at the time, not getting into an argument here because we obviously have different opinions of him but at the moment hes not even the best left back at the club let alone one of the best in the premier league
I agree. At the moment he is very poor.

We haven't bought a 'real' players in the last 3 years. La Porte may be good enough but is always crocked and no others have been anywhere near the level of Silva, Sterling, Kevin, Sergio etc.

Maybe it was to do with finance or bloody mindedness or a mistake but to not buy Van Dick was a huge mistake which has cost us this title and last years chumps cup.

All our buys bar one in the last 3 years have not been good enough it would seem.

Maybe Rodders, the new Silva, Foden, Zinchenko, Garcia and Angelino will produce at some point and become the new stalwarts but at the moment we are missing our mojo.

Hits:
Sané
Bernardo
Ederson
Walker
Laporte

Great at times, not at others (but more great than not):
Gundogan
Zinchenko
Stones
Bravo
Jesus
Mahrez

Misses:
Nolito
Mendy
Danilo

pretty much agree with this, other than Bravo into the misses box for me, not enough good performances to be in the middle one

Best: I can't pick between Ederson, Bernardo, Laporte and Sane.

Worst: Mendy, Bravo and Nolito.

Let's look at who has been genuinely world class for us in recent years.

Kompany - blighted by injuries but peak Vinnie was definitely world class. A huge bonus was his leadership qualities.

Yaya - irreplaceable as there isn't a player like him anywhere.

Silva - incredible for season after season.

Fernandinho - as above

Aguero - delivered goals season after season.

Unfortunately some have gone and the rest will be soon.

Now let's look at who is definitely world class currently.

Ederson - possibly with his distribution but I'm not convinced by his shot stopping abilities.

Laporte - excellent when fit but not world class currently.

de Bruyne - definitely was pre injury but not since. Hopefully it's just a blip.

Sterling - definitely.

To me that shows a huge drop off in the quality of our best team and we are now seeing the consequences.
