Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

You missed my first choice out!!

I think Poch is a decent shout too. He’s managed at a high level, been consistent and got Spurs through the ceiling of the top 4 on a consistent basis, plus a few good UCL runs. And he want given a big budget.

Pardew has never really been given a chance at a top club and he’s had some really good spells at a few of his teams.
And the award for shittest wum on bluemoon goes to you.
I think you've outed yourself mate, funny as fuck.

I agree about the exhaustion. What a year it has been. Total intensity required for a hugely demanding job, the stresses of Covid, loss of his mother. I think Pep is a football genius (unlike Alan Ball) but he's not superhuman. We did throw that game away last night because of a tactical blunder and some baffling onfield mistakes but in my heart I did not think we would have got past Bayern. Our defence is poor because they have to do less defending than most other teams and yet still crack at the first sign of pressure. This must be addressed.
The whole club and us fans need to have a break and a period of reflection before we make the next move. It's not a time for a knee-jerk response.

Good post, agreed. All I would add is re your comments about the defence, I think some (but not all) of that can be laid at the door of the quality of the midfield cover and screening in front of them. Liverpools CB's arent put under the kind of pressure our CBs are, as often, due to their more dynamic centre mid players. Maybe.

Actually I don't care if Guardiola goes or extends but the communication to the club must be clear so that they can prepare for the future.
Secondly he got to be less rigid now. This was clearly avoidable. Football is changing so should he . Leave the CL for a minute but 16 points behind the champions for this squad is also inacceptable. The worst part is he is getting found out. Norwich, Southampton Wolves they knew what to do t to us. All losses were just a replay for each other.
9 years is a long time for not reaching a CL final. Leave aside the aging squad he got at City most of his teams are highly talented and expensively assembled.
Say what you may of Ferguson he did adapt. Maybe Pep's intensity is eating him way, maybe it is something else. I am not good enough to question him but maybe he will question himself after this disaster class.

Personally I hope he goes. He has had his chances at City. This guy over thinks and everyone says he is a genius for it. Bollocks, the guy has cost us and will cost us again. We have lost Sane, we will lose Bernardo and Foden if he stays. Get rid asap for me.

Things come to an end, it is the way it is.

Spot-on. The great thing about football is it is always evolving. If you don't adapt and change with it, you sink. Look at Mourhinho now. He's a busted flush.
We have had an incredible decade and I am still optimistic but everyone has to adapt and that includes Pep. The problem is that he needs a break more than anyone but he will pour over this defeat for the rest of the summer. Intensity can be a double-edged sword in any walk of life. Without intensity you will struggle to achieve major success but you can also become submerged in it.

Again what the fuck have utd got to do with us in the champions league? I dont get posters doing it.
Are you trying to take the piss?
Maybe I'm old school but my first thought isn't to think " fuck me utd did this and won that".
Unless you are a utd fan on the wind up I cant think of anything that would make a 'city' fan mention them lot.
Edit - seeing as you mentioned utd and the fact we have gone 9 years without being in the champions league final, utd went THIRTY TWO YEARS between final appearances.

There's some absolute shite being posted on this thread this morning.
Fuck. Me.
Totally agree, woke up this morning thinking I'd died and was on some rag/dipper forum, Pep and the players got a few things wrong, I won't deny or defend that, but some of the self entitled shit is beyond belief !
