Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Experience is often over rated for me. Take Hansi Flick for example. Only ever been an assistant- he’s given an opportunity and wins everything.

Hansi Flick was a manager for 9 full years. Then he was an assistant with the German national team for 8 years, during which he was the tactical brain behind their world cup win.

After that he was the sporting director overseeing all of German football for 4 years. Finally he was the Bayern assistant, brought in to be an experienced head next to the relatively inexperienced Kovac.

He is absolutely nothing like Vincent Kompany as far as management experience goes.

It doesn't work more than it works and usually ends up tarnishing the reputation of a legend.

I don't see any reason why we can't wait for him to learn his trade and prove his credentials. If he becomes a top manager and there's a role at City going, we will always get him. There's no need to rush him in.

I'm sure we will see more options come up as well. Maybe Arteta will be interested in coming back, maybe Fernandinho will be an assistant for the next few years, maybe Zabaleta will take over the youth teams and then go and do well at a CFG club like Vieira.

Having a chat with my mate about this last night.

I was saying that for me it’s a no brainer to give Vincent the managers/head coach role when Pep decides to go.

Yes, he hasn’t got much managerial experience but what he has got is exceptional people skills, natural leadership, respect and authority which is more than half the battle. He also know the club and hierarchy inside out.

It’s a big yes from me and I hope we can welcome Vincent home soon.
Much rather see Nagelesmann (or perhaps Arteta) as number one with Vinny as his assistant. I thought Arteta did a great job towards the end of last season with Arsenal. That club was imploding when he arrived and winning the FA Cup was a big achievement. Poaching Hans Flick from Bayern (releasing Klopp to go to Bayern) would also be a smart strategic move! Let's wait and see what happens.

i want him to renew but he's not infallible . many times he fucks about with the team and we lose.

on here though he can do no wrong .
The thing is, from the beginning, he said some stupid things about City beeing a small team, the town nothing compared to Barcelona, not enough support from the fans, empty stadium in CL games, etc.. I think that this is the main reason for some fans not fully resonating with him, which is my case. In my opinion he is the best manager in the world, but he did a lot of mistakes in his time beeing here. No one is bigger than the club.

Sorry I disagree. Vinny hasn't got the experience. At best assistant like Arteta. He hasn't exactly the world on fire at Anderlecht has he in fact they had such a bad start he had to give up the management role there!
