Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Pep is simply the best coach in world football by a mile. The owners will not fall for this latest crap being peddled that he is a failure because he hasn't won the CL or that he's a failure because he's only ever won it with Messi and will do everything they can to keep him at City for as long as possible. I hope they succeed.

After Pep the only way is down and/or a gamble on a younger coach. Either way, we should try and keep him for as long as possible.

5 years is enough, he has done enough for this club. He has given this team an identity, made them better, changed the club culture, but ultimately, for City to move forward, they need to step up in Europe, and good as he is, maybe he just isn't the man to carry them forward season after.

Replacing him won't be as tough as some are making it out to be. Just need to make sure the decision isn't rushed and everyone is on board.

if it was Pochitino not winning a thing after 5 years, then maybe i would agree. but this guy is a trophy winning machine. there aren't that many around, if you hadn't noticed.
winning (not winning) the chumps lge, for me, is not a big issue. i have no faith in the integrity of the competition, and the football gamesmanship is woeful. not football i like to watch.
anyway, as long as he is happy and as long as we play great attacking exciting football, and also as long as we take trophies away from the red teams in the league, for me he stays.
i actually cant believe there is a debate on this forum about the future of PEP fucking GUARDIOLA as MCFC MANAGER. my mind is boggling!!!!

Why do we have no "Laugh at the lunatic" emojis on this new site? Definite oversight, @Ric

When you say “them”, don’t you mean “us”?

Why, why down?

We have one of the finest squad of players in world football, magnificent training facilities, an incredibly ambitious owner, becoming the manager/coach of Manchester City FC is a dream for 99.9% of the managers in the world.

Pep Guardiola is one the finest managers of his generation but there will be life after Pep, and there will be further success.

We have just said goodbye to the clubs finest player in David Silva, but we carry on, and we now possibly have the pleasure of one of our own taking that mantle in the coming years in Phil Foden.

Until Poch is given the same resources as Pep it will be impossible to know whether he can compete at the highest level.

I also highly doubt Pep could have done as good a job at Spurs as Poch did.
There’s a reason the biggest and best jobs in world football get offered to Pep and why Poch has been unemployed since leaving Spurs.
Also, what exactly did he do which Pep couldn’t replicate bar a CL final where they shit the bed?
