Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

i dont understand this insistence that we have to play open attractive football , Allegri or Simeone would bring trophies , they are proven winners , Rodgers teams (outside one team Scotland) have never run the course and never will.
The whole clubs plays the same way from U8 to first team. The club simply has to play attractive football or otherwise the work that has been put in place would be pointless.

City has been built like Barca in a nutshell.

Simeone or Allegri will never coach City.

City should consider carefully what to do after/when Pep leaves. I believe the main idea of the owners was Pep to be to City what Cruyff was to Barca. Not only to win some trophies while playing proactive attacking football but to instill his philosophy as a basic dna of the whole club. So hiring of coaches like Simeone or Allegri would be a huge contradiction of the whole project. On the other hand Soriano and co are very well aware that there is no other Pep to find out there..there are a lot of coaches who have similar views on football but what Guardiola offers as a whole package as manager is rare and unique. So the best solution imo is to keep him at the club as much as possible..

According to SportBILD from Germany, Nagelsmann is City's top target to replace Guardiola should he not extend his contract.

Also adds that City is the club in pole position for Nagelsmann and that could have to pay €10m in compensation to Leipzig.

I genuinely think the club wanted to mould Arteta into the role after Pep. Now he's gone I reckon the club will look abroad for a successor

Nothing is written in stone , and players and clubs adapt , a manager arriving at a football club signing a four year deal like Pep has does not dictate our playing style for years to come , Allegri or Simeone would no doubt change some aspects of our play , but wouldnt be stupid enough to make wholesale changes , they are experienced managers and winners who would take the best of Pep's tactics and supplement that with their own style of play
One thing is certain Brenda will never coach City , anybody who thinks he is the answer is in fantasy land.

Rodgers is a damn sight more likely than Simeone or Allegri. Pep may not dictate how we play, Txiki, Soriano, and Khaldoon, certainly do. Our next manager , whenever that is, will come from the same footballing school of thought.
As it is doubt it will be Rodgers either.

Pep's a tough act to follow , i just dont see any current manager who will pick up the reigns and seamlessly play Pep's style of football , the only answer is Pep signing for another decade and hoping with the continued climate change Manchester could be getting as much sun as Barcelona, and we get a sun tan and everyone's happy.

I sincerely hope Pep stays, but if he does go and we get this guy then there needs to be something in his contract about not wearing daft looking clobber
