Pep's contract situation

Meltdown when he leaves. The red tops will be joyous. Negative story after negative story… can’t wait.

I suppose it will not be much different to now then -:)

I would say it will be hard for pep to walk away. He has built a formidable club and he knows that he has reached the pinnacle of football professionalism. It’s all down hill from here baldy.

The next manager has to be Kompany. He will get time and have support from the fans. Anyone else and it won’t be good enough.

He’s right about one thing (Pep) we - the club & the fans, can’t and shouldn’t ever rely on one person, whether it’s Haaland or Pep - or both in this case. This year is very important, nothing lasts forever, I get the feeling Halland wasn’t put-off by Pep leaving, because he himself is off around that time as well. Haaland knows something we don’t.

Saw these quotes this morning and shit myself a little.

However, watched the full interview and he was basically asked whether city will go to pot, “if and when” he leaves, just like United did post fergie.

Lot more comfortable with that as he seems to be referring to a longer term structure.
He doesn't "seem to be" referring to a long term structure, he's positively emphasising the fact. I don't understand why anybody else is reading anything different into it.

The facts are we've been pretty much the top team for the past decade, with three different managers. The reason for that is exactly what he says it is, because the club has everything planned to the letter.

The united situation has arisen because their heads were up their arses, partly because of the arrogance around the club, instilled on them mostly by fergie. They always thought they were light years ahead of everybody else, to the point where they could have hired Donald Duck to run the team. They didn't have a plan, a structure in place and still don't. We're the polar opposite, everything is so well planned that we won't have that problem. No top manager is going to be easy to replace, but as long as the right structure is in place it won't be that big of a problem either.

I’m sick of having to remind people to take their blue glasses off when it comes to Vinny as a managerial candidate.

He’s at a relegated BURNLEY.

Fuck me..

I’d grip Arteta back from Arsenal if it were up to me. Or Enrique.

For me it doesn’t have to be an ex player if it is great
For me it’s the best available at the time

Don’t know if he’ll be a good manager or not, no idea if he’ll ever be our standard too early to know, being at a club relegated before he went is hardly relevant to anything though.

Him being at a second division shite team does matter though. It’a no preparation for stepping up to the elite level.

Vinny needs to do well at Burnley, get them promoted then earn his stripes at the next level - at least a few years at a top 6 club or top tier champions league level foreign club.

Yes Pep was promoted from relative managerial inexperience to the top tier and smashed it. But he’s Pep Guardiola, a complete freak.

Sounds to me like the club already know who they want to replace Pep. Which would make sense giving our long term strategy as Pep says. When that will be nobody knows.

Nothing to do with Blue specs. Rather whomever comes after pep is expected to fail. So I would rather give vinny a chance and then if he is not up to the job, the following appointment will have less pressure. Poisoned chalice once the fraud leaves.
