Peps Targets

I don't see any reason at all why we would buy Stones when we already have Denayer. We have absolutely no need for two inexperienced, ball playing defenders who both have work to be done on the defensive side of their game and seeming as we already own one it seems bizarre to be after another. It seems like an epic waste of £50m that really could be better spent in just about any other area of the team, particularly central midfield. That's just me though, who knows what Pep will do.

I know they're only links but in recent weeks we have been linked with Pogba, Messi, Neymar, Gundogan, Weigl, Sane, Thiago, Alaba, Lewandowski, Sanchez, Ramsey, Isco, Laporte, Stones, Gaya, and others.

The Pep effect. It will be a very exciting summer indeed.

That lot will cost a bob or two and I am not sure how the hell we will squeeze them into the 25 man squad.

300mil was said on Talksport?

I thought it was £150m.

Enough for three very good players, or one of Messi, Neymar or Pogba plus one squad player. Although it depends what we can get on top of that from any sales.

Surely Pep will have unlimited cash to spend in the coming window?

Do any of you financial gurus have any idea how much Guardiola will have net spend this summer, taking into account the extra revenue from the new deal.

My guess would be what ever he needs and no limit. It would be stupid if the only thing limiting pep was money.

Jason Denayer (return):
-RB and CB
Looks to be good on the ball, quick and strong. I could see him playing RB more often than CB at the start but would obviously act as cover/competition at CB too.

John Stones (40-50m)
-CB and DM
Lots of criticism recently but has the skillset to be a top defender for years to come. Can bring the ball out of defence into midfield, which is important, and, imo, could quite easily add cover in DM.

Julian Weigl (20-25m)
-DM and CM
A young Busquets type player, a type we have needed for a long time.

Marco Verratti (no idea 50m?)
-CM and DM
The best CM in the world, imo. Very Xavi-like but more tenacious. Would be very difficult to get but I'd rather get him than Pogba

Isco (25-30m)
-CM and AM
With the arrivals of KDB and Sterling we need another attacking player who is good in possession, like Silva. Seems to be somewhat available. Would improve us now and also be ready made to replace Silva in x number of years.

I think the above would suit Pep. The most interesting thing for me about Pep is what he does with the existing players rather than who he brings in.

I'd swap Pogba for Verratti and a add 2 fullbacks. Demichelis and Mangala out.
