Perspective

I've mostly stayed away since yesterday so I might be repeating what others said but...
...I'm disappointed in the performance yesterday
...I'm surprised and disappointed that Foden and Bernardo didn't start
...I'm fine with Walker not starting even if he was better than Cancelo when he came on
...I'm fine with Jesus giving away a penalty and not scoring because I love his all round contribution
...I'm hopeful that Sterling will be eventually replaced with a better threat on goal (Haaland hopefully). Doesn't mean he should go in the summer but he surely can't be the level we aspire to longterm?
...I'm disappointed that subs weren't made sooner yesterday. IMO this was a game for 2 halftime subs.
...I'm worried that Pep can't win these types of games (United, Liverpool, latter stage CL sides)
...I'm glad we have Pep
...I'm glad we have our amazing squad
...I'm glad we'll likely win the league
...I'm hopeful we'll win more this season
And that’s literally all that’s been talked about across the forum mate, but just in a greater posting volume than you’d usually get because we just lost a derby.

You mustn't be on Facebook, I've seen "fans" calling him a clown and "pep out" etc on numerous groups
Facebook and Twitter are awash idiots. I wouldn’t associate anything that’s ever said on either platform with our fanbase.

What are we meant to think when he leaves out his two most effective attackers against them? Other than complacency or underestimation......There was no excuse for such an action.
Who do you mean? Aguero and Foden?

I think it was always unlikely to see Aguero start the game and as much as he's been magnificent and has adapted to Pep's style he still isn't quite as effective in the press as Jesus even when on form, making it easier for the team to be played through. As for Foden I think Mahrez played himself into the team with his recent form and having a great game against Wolves.
Like I said earlier my preference would have been Bernardo in place of Kev but the team we had out was bloody strong, I don't think it's fair to say that selection was indicative of Pep underestimating them.

I think if all were fully fit it would be interesting to see a front three of Aguero, Jesus and Foden. Plenty of energy from the two young players, goals from Aguero and Jesus and Foden would chip in with plenty in that setup. Probably pretty unlikely now though.

No,Foden and Bernardo.

Two players with the ability, tenacity, energy and hunger to counter any threat the Rags had.

Favourites for the CL and FA Cup means zero, as last season proved.
No, but if we're talking about perspective, it means we're the best teams in those competitions. Being the best doesn't mean we'll win anything, but when you see people flapping that we lost one game, I think they need to remember that we're supporting the best team in the world right now.

I did qualify my statement by saying “City fans” the 5 or so posts you have seen were written by tossers if they even indicated Pep should go. So, as I said - no city fans have suggested any such thing - but that doesn’t mean they can’t question the team selection when we lose - IF we put it into perspective of having just won 21 on the bounce - another record we have set under Pep
It just feels a bit no true Scotsman to suggest that posters here calling for Pep to go, possibly under the influence and upset but here nevertheless, aren't city fans. I also multiple people claiming they'd prefer for us to beat United each season over winning the league, which seems bonkers to me. But I agree that they're tossers and that people are entitled to a moan, if, like you say, the moan is put into the context that we are currently witnessing a golden age of city!

City aren’t allowed to lose now apparently.

I wonder how many people looked at the last 22 lineups Pep has picked and agreed with the first 21 but not the last one. I’m interested in hearing from them.

We are all experts after the final whistle.
