Perspective

I find it amazing that people think an intelligent guy like Pep, who, after nearly 5 years at the club, won’t understand what a derby against the rags means to City fans.
Privately he will be totally gutted about yesterday.

I do agree he could be a bit less effusive towards them. He can still stay classy and take the defeat on the chin and leave it at that. Way better than Klopp’s embarrassing rambling though.
Well if he knows how much they mean why do we constantly play into their hands at home and have such a poor record and play like shit against them?

As I posted previously
It’s probably kept the paperboy in a job.
Rejoice!

I've seen it at least five times on here, though some of them were deleted and warned for some of the language that was being used.

I did qualify my statement by saying “City fans” the 5 or so posts you have seen were written by tossers if they even indicated Pep should go. So, as I said - no city fans have suggested any such thing - but that doesn’t mean they can’t question the team selection when we lose - IF we put it into perspective of having just won 21 on the bounce - another record we have set under Pep

Lesser teams raise the game against great teams. But they can’t do it every week (never mind winning 21 on the bounce). Look at their performance a few days before at Palace

What are we meant to think when he leaves out his two most effective attackers against them? Other than complacency or underestimation......There was no excuse for such an action.

No other games hurts as much as loosing a Derby no matter how good or shite we are the Derby is the game I want to win the most, and I suppose this team loosing one is even harder to take.

I used to feel like that when we were shit & they were winning everything.
Rags now think like that - you shouldn’t

Dissapointing of course but the guys deserve a break. Hopefully Pep will revert back to playing the in-form players and not even KDB is exempt from having to earn his place back in the team. There were flashes of concern for upcoming UCL games but let's move on and thankfully a game is only a couple of days away to get things sorted and back on track.

The home record is poor and I mentioned that when I posted in the post match thread.
However, I think we have to accept when City are playing well and confident Pep is probably always going to try to play with a high press and attack the opposition. This just matches up well against them from their point of view.
I think in these games having good control is vital so I'd have gone with Bernardo over Kev but it's not exactly a wtf moment picking KDB. People have argued for Walker but Cancelo is a far better technical player and he and Zin help the team maintain contol. Cancelo is no slouch in the speed stakes either.

The one time he did make light of the derby was the league cup in his first season, I don't think he's done that again.

I’m not remotely arsed about the fact it was a Derby. I’ve had no piss taking from United mates as they know the league is done and they don’t want to make it their cup final etc. What I am very concerned about is the fact that Pep absolutely fucked his team selection and in game substitutions yet again in a big game.

Going four months unbeaten is great and yes a league win would (and will) be fantastic. But I’ve already resigned myself to a 1/4 Final exit from the CL when Pep suddenly shits the bed about how Porto play and picks the wrong side whilst changing our tactics to something we’ve never done or practiced before rather than playing to our strengths whilst utilising players in form.
Absolutely my concern too, and I said so in the match thread.

Of course we could both be wrong and who knows we may end up lifting the CL trophy this season. But it's not like a blip that Pep has fucked it up as you describe in a big game. He's done it repeatedly. The Lyon game was utterly dreadful and our attempts against Liverpool and Spurs in the CL not much better.

As already alluded to, it's not the fact that we lost, it's the manner in which we lost and the opposition. Had it been West Ham nobody would have said a word. Also the fact that we keep losing in the same manner to same shite. He doesn't learn from previous games against them worse still, does nothing to change it when even a blind man can see what's unfolding. Rant over, pick ourselves up and we go again......
