Perspective

It makes me laugh how our 'fans' overreact when we lose. We've just won 21 games on the spin, we're going to win the league, we're in a cup final and we're favourites to win the Champions League and FA cup. This season we've beaten Liverpool away, Arsenal away, United away, Chelsea away. We're being linked with Lionel Messi. We have the greatest manager in the world (maybe the greatest manager ever).

So we lost one game.... What are you all crying about? Did you sleep through the 90s?

But it wasn't meaningless they are 2nd in the table and even a draw would have kept them in their place. Now they will have been encouraged to keep going.
Aye and we have to lose what 4 odd games and the have to win them all it was hardly a 6 pointer. If we collapse that badly it will be on pep and not down to this 1 game it was only meaningful to the rags we win our remain games we will the league it's ours to lose

I have not heard a single City fan ever say they want Pep out. He is one of the best managers in football history but he is not beyond criticism.
It’s bizarre that anyone has come to that conclusion that they think that anyone wants Pep out.

All that’s happened is that some posters on the forum have shit themselves because more people came on to comment about yesterday’s game than usual so they think that everyone thinks the world has ended. But in reality, all that’s happened is an increase in discussion.

When we win, people are more likely to crack open a beer form the fridge, put their feet up and enjoy their night without their phone in their hand posting on Bluemoon... When we lose you can multiply the amount of people posting by three, and they will discuss where we went wrong and what was shit... When we lose a derby, you can multiply the amount of people posting by five.

When more people are posting there’s more discussion, more posts to reply to, greater volume of posts. When that follows a defeat and a defeat in a derby, it’s only natural for that discussion to be critical and negative. It’s not overreacting, it’s literally just more traffic.

It’s like calling rush hour an overreaction of people trying to get home after work.

That’s all that’s happened. Nobody needs reminding about perspective, everyone’s just commenting on a game that’s just been played. The perspective people need is understanding that discussion after games happens and happens more when we lose.

I’ve not seen any City fan remotely suggesting that Pep should go so it’s a bit of a dramatic start to your post. However, when you lose a Derby it hurts & perspective is lost & criticism is naturally thrown about.
The result is not important if we bounce back against Southampton.
You mustn't be on Facebook, I've seen "fans" calling him a clown and "pep out" etc on numerous groups

Favourites for the CL and FA Cup means zero, as last season proved.

I've mostly stayed away since yesterday so I might be repeating what others said but...
...I'm disappointed in the performance yesterday
...I'm surprised and disappointed that Foden and Bernardo didn't start
...I'm fine with Walker not starting even if he was better than Cancelo when he came on
...I'm fine with Jesus giving away a penalty and not scoring because I love his all round contribution
...I'm hopeful that Sterling will be eventually replaced with a better threat on goal (Haaland hopefully). Doesn't mean he should go in the summer but he surely can't be the level we aspire to longterm?
...I'm disappointed that subs weren't made sooner yesterday. IMO this was a game for 2 halftime subs.
...I'm worried that Pep can't win these types of games (United, Liverpool, latter stage CL sides)
...I'm glad we have Pep
...I'm glad we have our amazing squad
...I'm glad we'll likely win the league
...I'm hopeful we'll win more this season

For a start you do not know if they are even city fans. Any city fan would not be calling for him to go. He has brought us trophies and football that we couldn't even have dared to dream of. He gets plaudits galore. On the same score he is also not immune to criticism or questioning when he gets it wrong. That's how life rolls.
