Perspective

We should have won the game despite the performance, and that was a throwback to pre December when we were getting 20+ attempts at goal and struggling to score, unlike recent games where we have been winning despite many less goal attempts.

It's not easy to ignore who the opposition were, but lets look at our profligacy in front of goal as to why we lost, the penalty was unfortunate, and put us on the back foot, the second a good strike from an error from one of our best players recently, BUT Sterling alone should have scored twice, we had more than enough chances to win the game despite the fact they scored twice.

That should be Pep's focus !

"Unfortunate"? You're being very generous there!

Anyone calling for Pep to go is a WUM, a clown or in the very unlikely event they are a City fan, an absolute disgrace.

I'm a massive Pep fan, but he got it wrong - again - yesterday. Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing but Walker's pace was going to be useful against their rapid forwards. Too many players like Mahrez, KdB, Sterling just seem to get picked week after week whereas Foden, Bernardo etc have to be MOTM every week to keep their place.

My biggest moan is that quite frankly, once we were 0-2 down I knew we wouldn't get back into it. This team is amazing, but I can't ever see it "doing a QPR" if you get me. We should've had some fire in the bellies to win the Derby and to absolutely put the league out of any question.

I'm sure we'll beat Southampton but Pep needs to look at how he gets his ass kicked repeatedly from a basic tactic and substandard manager.
Makes me think if we’re to harsh on Pep sometimes. He’s make mistakes, sometimes in big games. But his mistakes are rare. What other manager consistently goes on big running runs, stays competitive in every competition until the latter stages, breaks records frequently. Yet, he makes a wrong team selection and we’re all on his back. He’s that good, the mistakes he makes are almost like a shock to us because they’re that uncommon. He shouldn’t have left Bernardo or Foden out yesterday, but maybe there is more to it than what the fans see. Foden is still learning and Pep has been quite vocal about that. It seems like he’s trying to keep Fodens feet on the ground, which will probably be the right outcome in a few years time. I don’t know why Bernardo didn’t start, but maybe it’s something to do with scheduling and fitness.

We are still 11 points clear and are still on course to win the league as stated by the OP. And we have beaten them lot when they last won the League in 2013

Sincerely hope we face them in the F.A. Cup , when there something tangible at stake we always beat them , the last three cup semi-finals have all been victories for the team from Manchester , when the stakes are high they cannot live with us.It doesnt excuse are poor league form against them , but our trophy cabinet has an attractive look in comparison to the tumble weed blowing around their trophy room.

It was clumsy, but had we done our jobs before that they wouldn't have been in that position in the first place, and you do have to wonder why our CF is tackling on the edge of our box after 34 seconds, even though I know he's enthusiastic to get back and help.
He shouldn't have been within 40 yds of where he actually was. I still don't know what he was doing. Stones and Dias had Martial covered.

And stop wearing a top with red on . Pep got it wrong but we are carrying players who are being made to look good because of our form at present . If Jesus went in the summer I wouldn’t shed tears as he has had more than enough chances and also sterling needs to be benched because his firm has been crap since the start of the season . Kdb doesn’t look the same atm but that will come back but since he has been back gundo has suddenly gone of the boil now whether it’s because we can’t play both in same team I don’t know but it’s not right . Yesterday’s result has been coming for the last 3 games so hopefully it’s out of our system and we kick on .

Unfortunately it's one of the things that Pep expects of him, my issue was whether it was required after only 34 seconds, Sergio would still have been stood on the halfway line. As a team though we'd already made a mess of it before that.

That said, we took control after 15 minutes, and worked enough chances to be at least level by half time, and another unforced error early in the second still should not have set us back like it did, and we did have enough chances thereafter to still get something.

I think the "perspective" is that it's 1 defeat in 28, magnified by who it was against, but it was a game we still should have won.

So Pep obviously has a problem where he overthinks certain games. We might never win the Chumps League with him in charge. We might though, and probably will, win another 4 or 5 other major honours with him in charge over the next 2/3 years, playing brilliant football with brilliant players. I'd take that any day. I know others would rather win the golden nugget and that's fair do's, but I'm really not arsed what my Liverpool/United associates say, I'd much rather dominate THIS country. Maybe it's because I hate UEFA with a passion that I'm not arsed about their corrupt, old boys trophy. I obviously want us to win it because I want us to win every game, but I'd honestly be just as happy with the FA Cup. I presume everyone who slates him and wants him out after one game realises that we will have a massive dip when he leaves. Maybe not as much as the scum did after Ferguson as we are a much, MUCH better run club, but there's no doubt we'll have a massive shock when he goes - the grass is almost never greener.
