Perspective

All the people saying Peps got it wrong and does not get us and the need to beat Utd.Cast your minds back it used to be our season to beat them ...roles are reversed now.
For what its worth i would have played Walker ,Foden and Bernado
however that is why we are all on here opinions which make the game great.I walked in work this morning 3 of them waiting for me i greeted them all good morning lovely day isnt it no sign of dissapointment from me they were all bemused. All day trying to get me to bite just kept telling them they played well and Ole is a genius and they should give him a 10 yr deal.

Unfortunately it's one of the things that Pep expects of him, my issue was whether it was required after only 34 seconds, Sergio would still have been stood on the halfway line. As a team though we'd already made a mess of it before that.

That said, we took control after 15 minutes, and worked enough chances to be at least level by half time, and another unforced error early in the second still should not have set us back like it did, and we did have enough chances thereafter to still get something.

I think the "perspective" is that it's 1 defeat in 28, magnified by who it was against, but it was a game we still should have won.
If we were entering the last five minutes and were defending a one goal lead, I'd understand him being there. But not after 30 seconds. Starting from the poor throw in by Cancelo, it was a shit show. Then Cancelo getting roasted by Shaw for the second. Luke Shaw, for fuck's sake.

As already alluded to, it's not the fact that we lost, it's the manner in which we lost and the opposition. Had it been West Ham nobody would have said a word. Also the fact that we keep losing in the same manner to same shite. He doesn't learn from previous games against them worse still, does nothing to change it when even a blind man can see what's unfolding. Rant over, pick ourselves up and we go again......
On a tangent but West ham at home, where we struggled to get the 3 points, was reminiscent of yesterday in that neither Bernardo or Foden started that game

Whilst yesterday was very disappointing what worries me slightly is Pep's overthinking/poor team selection in big games. We only have to go back to the Lyon and Spurs away game in the CL when the same criticism has been made. The other concern is our inability in big games to come back once we have conceded first.

The league is nearly done imo and the CL QF (we will get through against Gladbach) are pending and this is where Pep needs to show he has learnt from his previous mistakes and ensure we proceed further.

It was clumsy, but had we done our jobs before that they wouldn't have been in that position in the first place, and you do have to wonder why our CF is tackling on the edge of our box after 34 seconds, even though I know he's enthusiastic to get back and help.

Jesus plays every game like an excited schoolboy being given a chance to play with the big lads. He was tackling on the edge of the box after 34 seconds because he's a headless chicken. Stupid is as stupid does.

Pep wants players doing that though, and he wouldn't call him a headless chicken, he was there because we'd already fucked up in the lead up imho.

So Pep obviously has a problem where he overthinks certain games. We might never win the Chumps League with him in charge. We might though, and probably will, win another 4 or 5 other major honours with him in charge over the next 2/3 years, playing brilliant football with brilliant players. I'd take that any day. I know others would rather win the golden nugget and that's fair do's, but I'm really not arsed what my Liverpool/United associates say, I'd much rather dominate THIS country. Maybe it's because I hate UEFA with a passion that I'm not arsed about their corrupt, old boys trophy. I obviously want us to win it because I want us to win every game, but I'd honestly be just as happy with the FA Cup. I presume everyone who slates him and wants him out after one game realises that we will have a massive dip when he leaves. Maybe not as much as the scum did after Ferguson as we are a much, MUCH better run club, but there's no doubt we'll have a massive shock when he goes - the grass is almost never greener.
Can’t see it tbh as the way we are run we will carry on winning trophy’s and competing at the top . As for the champions league I don’t give a fuck about it either but a lot do so we win it and it shuts off he doubters up .

Was it all the result of another dodgy throw in? I haven’t reviewed the build up to the pen.

I'm not intending to watch it again, if you do, let me know, it was an error strewn 34 seconds, I do know that.
From memory... United from the kick off, hoofed it forward, it went over Cancelo’s head for a throw in to us. Cancelo (not for the 1st time) makes a mess of the throw and United gain possession due to the shit throw in and then a shit touch by Rashford finds its way to Martial luckily... who proceeds to waltz past Cancelo who makes no attempt to stop him... so Jesus decides to stop him, stupidly! All on Cancelo, as was the 2nd. Shame to say it as he’s been excellent lately...
