But it wasn't meaningless they are 2nd in the table and even a draw would have kept them in their place. Now they will have been encouraged to keep going.
They can do what they like. It's entirely down to City.

We’ll still walk the league, are favourites for every cup we’re in (not that I’m confident we’ll win the Champions League), and this is without a striker.

We’ll probably get a top striker in the summer and be even better.
Or worse. We went 21 games unbeaten. We should have a bit more affection / respect for our players. I find it very annoying that so many fans dismiss Jesus.

We'll see how Pep reacts for the next big game, the league cup final. I think most agree that foden for sterling is a given. Bernardo has to play for his energy and control of the midfield as well. Less obvious is the de bruyne puzzle, he either drops him or he drops the striker and plays the false nine, my preference. Walker is great on the cover but we lose an attacking edge. Spurs like to counter the same as utd, let's hope pep learns and reacts better this time

It’s not dismissing, but he’s not ready to be our main striker. Aguero has hit double figures 10 seasons in a row, Jesus might hit it 2 out of 4 seasons. That’s the level we’re at, good or great players aren’t guaranteed a spot in the first 11. If we want to win the CL, we need a top striker.

It is one game and nobody would swap positions with United. However I don’t think Pep “gets” derbies and why would he. In Barcelona their game is Madrid and not Espanol and in Germany when he was there B Munich was Dortmund and not 1860 Munich. Unfortunately it is different in the UK and I wonder sometimes if he gets that. Saying that let’s repeat. It’s nice that their glory is a derby win and ours will be trophies. How times have changed

No other games hurts as much as loosing a Derby no matter how good or shite we are the Derby is the game I want to win the most, and I suppose this team loosing one is even harder to take.

I’ve not seen any City fan remotely suggesting that Pep should go so it’s a bit of a dramatic start to your post. However, when you lose a Derby it hurts & perspective is lost & criticism is naturally thrown about.
The result is not important if we bounce back against Southampton.
I've seen it at least five times on here, though some of them were deleted and warned for some of the language that was being used.

Perspective - Win the next two in a week we will cross 70 pts mark. Rags need to win six games to get there and that will only happen on the first of May.

I find it amazing that people think an intelligent guy like Pep, who, after nearly 5 years at the club, won’t understand what a derby against the rags means to City fans.
Privately he will be totally gutted about yesterday.

I do agree he could be a bit less effusive towards them. He can still stay classy and take the defeat on the chin and leave it at that. Way better than Klopp’s embarrassing rambling though.
