I know he’s young and we’ve barely played any games, but will he get enough game time to develop this season ? With a fully fit squad he doesn’t make the bench and then he’s relying on cup games ( we could get knocked out early)

He needs to be starting all the cup games, coming off the bench this season. If not he needs a loan move. Obviously it’s early and hopefully he gets lots of minutes this season.

He's 18, he has plenty of time to develop.

Expectations really need tempered.

I’m gonna trust Pep on this.

I know he’s 18. But he is good enough. the only way he’s going to improve this season is with more game time. As I said hopefully he gets all the cup games and comes off the bench more. I don’t think that’s too high and expectation.

Take Diaz for instance. Hasn’t featured at all and probably won’t apart from the cups ( same as last year). To me he needs a loan.

Pep’s on record saying that he will improve more playing and training with the team than playing somewhere else.

You have to remember he’s two years ahead of Silva in his development.

He will get more game time, this is game 3 of potentially 60+.

He played 45 minutes in the league last season. Realistically, how much did you expect that to 'jump'?

Plus, looking at our bench and figuring in Kev will have a spot in the 18 when fit. Who does he, on merit, replace?

He'll get his chance in the cups, the tail end of Huddersfield-esque games. Until then he's gaining a better education in training than he would get doing anything else at most other clubs.

He's still growing, still developing physically. Playing every now and then is perfect for him.

Look at the likes of Owen that played week in, week out at 17 and were crocked in their 20's.

Seasoned Internationals are struggling to make our bench,so why are people are expecting an 18yr old kid to be automatically included?

He's not daft,he knows the score, and he knows what's expected of him in training - his opportunity will come.

At this rate, Diaz will fuck off like Sancho did. He'd be stupid to sign new deal
