Time for us to shit or get off the pot with Foden. He's at an important point in his development. He needs minutes every week and not just 10 minutes at the end when we are 4-0 ahead and there's nothing to play for. Yes he's training with a great manager and world class players but that only goes so far. Either we put our trust in him and I'd certainly have him in the team ahead of Gundo or we loan him out so he can get some proper experience. The last thing we want is his development stalling cos he's reached the age of 20 and he's played about 10 full games his whole career.

Well said.

Referred to as “Phil Foden, that poor kid at Manchester City” this morning by that cnut Neil Ashton in the Sun, in an article about England players not getting a game for their clubs. We’ve only played two games FFS!

He’d do well to remember that when Rashford was the same age as Foden he hadn’t even made their squad.

He’d be the first to hammer us if we were losing and saying our squad wasn’t strong enough if Foden was playing. Personally I think he’s a young lad who needs easing it. He’ll have a long career. If he plays to much from a young age he’ll be finished by 30.

People always say that, but other than Rooney who does it actually apply to? De Bruyne and Silva both played regular football when they were 18. There just always seems to be an excuse as to why we can’t play Foden.

Who on the bench today should be replaced by Foden. He is not good enough yet to be a starting 11 player. De Bruyne and Danilo will be returning to panel soon. I would love to see Foden Diaz Zinchenko etc get a good run with the team but can't see it unless there are injuries or suspensions. By buying Mahrez this season and trying to get a Jorginho type player it will be even harder for them to breakthrough. I personally would have liked us get rid of all the surplus players but not buy Mahrez and play the likes of Foden. cant see it happening this season

Otamendi, there’s no reason to have two centre halves on the bench.

The thing about Rooney was he was physically a 24 year old when he was 18 and was always going to have a short career (age wise) as by the time he was 28 his fitness was that of a 33 year old. Phil looks like he's 18 at the moment so throwing him in with 27 year old opposition players from the start is not a wise choice. He needs easing in.
