I'm convinced he will become the poster boy for the academy and that we will see academy graduates blooded into the first team squad every season moving forward.
Of course he will,he ticks every box.

In fact,we couldn't have built a more perfect player/prospect.

Pep on Phil Foden: "When we show him what he has to do, he gets it quick. But he's 18 years old and still has a lot of things [to learn]. But what I'm most satisfied with is the fact we can count on him. Definitely. Any time. Everywhere."

Pep reckons Phil will be here for 10 years, so he better be sticking around to see that development!

Really good performance tonight, particularly the 2nd half, heavily involved in all 3 goals.

The type of performance that may lead to Pep trusting him more in the Premier League. Might not be long until he actually earns a start in the league.

I'm fucking devastated. Ten years means Phil will be leaving in his prime at 28. Can't believe Pep doesn't think the club can keep hold of a player of his calibre.

As a fan, the 2 minute sub appearances are more annoying than him staying on the bench.

Agreed. I back Pep fully and you can see he doesn’t *quite* trust Phil 100% as stated. Otherwise he would have had no qualms bringing him on when there was enough time for Brighton to get back in it, as Silva was again off the pace. I don’t think Foden is far off getting to that level of trust but he isn’t there yet, so he will only see PL minutes when the game is dead or we have no other options for a while yet.

Easy to forget that this lad is only around 6 months older than Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ethan Ampadu, Curtis Jones, Angel Gomes & younger than Ben Woodburn and Marcus Edwards who I understand are the best prospects at their respective clubs....and Foden has been much more involved than any of those in a team thats much better and deeper than the other top sides

What he's learning just training alongside David & Bernardo is already invaluable

He will get his chance, but I do agree in games like yesterday there was no risk in playing him for 15/20 mins

Let’s hope he’ll still make the bench on a semi-regular basis when De Bruyne (and presumably Gundogan) are back in the next week or two.

I would like to think so as I can't see the point of having two centre backs on the bench in addition to Danilo.
