There is a bit of impatience going on here(understandable).

Phil is in and around the level to compete for a place in the starting 11 at City. Think about that for a moment, he is 18yrs old.

The national manager is itching to pick him and get him into a team the reached the semi final of the world cup.

He has just about the best manager he could possibly have to school him to the level his amazing potential allows, I trust Pep on this. He will get a lot of games this season as Pep has said its a very long season.

I would like to think so as I can't see the point of having two centre backs on the bench in addition to Danilo.

I understand the general point but I think Stones is also acting as Fernandinho's deputy, so in some ways it's one centre half and one holding midfielder on the bench.

Literally no chance that’s true. Sane’s On 65k isn’t he? Half of Gabby’s salary?
Where would we go from there as he gets better?

I think the qeustion now is does Pep still consider playing him solely to give him minutes or does he now consider Phil as a player who can offer things other players can’t?

For me, he’s still at the stage where we play him to give him minutes (ie for his benefit) rather than playing him to give us another option (for the benefit of the team, short term anyway). Definitely not far off being a regular first team option though especially with David Silva being the age he is.
