Phil Foden - 2018/19 Performances

The story makes no sense anyway. If Foden decided not to sign a new contract then presumably the club would just sell him next summer for a big fee. They’re not going to let him run down his contract and leave for nothing.

Phil is destined to become the greatest English player of all time. His nationality is English but he plays like he was Spanish or South American. One major factor that distinguishes him from 99% of other English talent is that his game is based on thinking and skill and not physicality. Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney etc etc. they possessed a few good attributes but they were kinda old school players who were strong, quick and powerful. They didn't have the elegance in their play. Phil's technical ability, skills on the ball are sublime. His vision, passing, ability to make a decision in a split second (those backheels, one touch passes etc etc), movement etc etc. is what separates him from other typical English players. He plays with the brain and has a skill-set to execute the actions. Scholes and Gazza were the only ones that could be mentioned in the same category. When he comes on for the last 10 or 12mins he looks like a player we paid 50-60mil for. He fits in immediately and doesn't look out of place.

Wayyyyyyy too early to be saying that

Wasn't able to watch the match today but Pat Nevin was really extolling his virtues today.

He was very, very good.

I am not joking when I say he lost the ball once in the entire match (at the end with a misplaced first-time pass) and made a fair few of Fulham’s more senior players look like fools.

Could have had a goal and two assists if not for bad luck and poor finishing.

MOTM for me

I know Diaz bagged twice but Foden didn’t seem to give the ball away, his link up was immense.

Looks much stronger in his lower body than the same stage of last season, a real spring in his step and ability to bounce away from challenges. His deliberate touch around the player closing him down from behind (Anguissa?) best moment.
