Pitch invasions

And here we go...

Giving the media more ammo. But at least you got your likes on socials yeah?

Mate, they will lie about us, say negative things and make things up, as long as we’re smashing them on the pitch. Long may it live. It gives us great conversations to have and it means their piss is volcanic.

The FA.

The same FA that are charging City fans £115 to stand behind the goal at Wembley.

F*cking Dinasours in grey suits, sloshing around in money.
Yep. That very same organisation- and our “so called fans” are giving them excuses to punish the club

The club did ask the fans not to go on the pitch. Nobody can argue that point.

But the evidence posted from videos and pictures shows the club knew the pitch invasion would happen, so rather than try and stop it, they decided to contain it with Police protecting the away end and stewards forming a double line in-front of the players tunnel and around the SS goal. That isn’t stopping a pitch invasion, that’s managing and containing a pitch invasion. In my opinion the club took the right decision and handled a short pitch invasion lasting 10-15 minutes long, very well. This time all the fans came off the pitch and went back to their seats without any trouble. Pep, the players and the staff then came on to pitch and the trophy presentation began.
Glad you said this as I had a very close view of this from row A in the NS. Within seconds of the whistle blowing the stewards all drew together as if they were going to stop people. But at the same time there were all these stools that appeared that looked very much like they were there to facilitate people climbing over, and as the fans started getting out of their seats, the stewards all parted as one and said absolutely nothing. It looked very much like the club had taken a pragmatic approach that it was going to happen whatever they said, but if it was gonna happen, it had to happen in a way that minimised risk to the fans, staff, players and infrastructure. I might be wrong, but I saw no-one mobbing players and certainly no-one abusing the goalposts. I even saw stewards chatting amiably with parents who were helping their kids over and fans on the way back. It was, in short, the most civilised pitch invasion I have ever seen. But with that drone hovering over I was not taking part, as the club will have to make an example of some fans to assure the authorities they are acting responsibly, and in these days we all have enough to worry about without a ban from City being added to the pile, so I wasn't going to let that be me or one of mine.

"Under FA Rule E20b, clubs can face anything from a warning through to stadium closure and potential points deduction if found guilty of failing to take adequate action."
The club took every possible action they could do so they can’t do us for that - unless they want to make that number 116. If so then about 15 teams this/last weekend will be in trouble

Yes - rather than rely on fans not to run on the pitch they should have put fencing up???? What are they supposed to do? We’re heading back to the old days when fans are going to be completely separated from the players & pitch just because some entitled idiots want to do what they want.

Given the media more to hit us with

Did you honestly think the fans wouldn’t run on to the pitch?

As you know very well, by law fences aren’t allowed around the perimeter of the pitch.

I keep on posting this, the evidence from yesterday suggests the club contained the pitch invasion.(very well)

It’s impossible to stop 1000’s of fans from going on the pitch if they are determined to do that.

So, apart from putting up fences, how else are ‘you‘ going to stop 1000’s of (happy) fans from going on to the pitch? Shoot them?

I've read several posters saying they think our pitch invasion was embarrassing. Really?

I disagree. Breaking into your own stadium in a demo against the owners which led to a game being cancelled is what i think is embarrassing.

No doubt we'll be hammered in comparison.

As you have said - fences will go up. Temporary barriers.

Not what I want - but the pitch invaders obviously don’t care. Do you?
