Probably already mentioned but this gave me a chuckle.
Oh yeah I fully agreeYou are of course correct and that is in my opinion the aim of it all to tarnish the club, however consider it a battle in a war, they have scored a hit on us, however the war is not over, looking in the long term Citys commercial success and attracting a worldwide fanbase moves on apace, apart from some bitter enders this will fade from the memory
Oh yeah I fully agree
I just disagree with the notion that all the lies and smears will disappear overnight.
Not me for sure, but that wasn't my point. It doesn't stop us winning and it doesn't stop our global fanbase growing. So who cares actually?
I have never believed we'd have no recourse in dealing with any arbitrary decision that might come our way no matter how many so called experts came on here and said otherwise. No disrespect, but a lot of what's been said on here appears to me to be fear mongering or abject pessimism or simply bad information. Maybe some or all of the above. There is no way on God's green earth that a multi billion dollar entity like City could have virtually their entire long term viability left to the whims of some potential kangaroo court representing parties in conflict with their own. That would be impossible to believe considering the circumstances and the stakes involved...JMOThanks for explaining that clearly. It's reassuring to hear that they couldn't just impose some arbitrary penalty (say relegation to League Two) and that we'd just have to accept it with no legal recourse whatsoever.
No, it's unprecedented.I guess, with regards to taking any decisions to court, being able to show something comparable, is there another case that is comparible? IE another club that has done what is alleged with City.
ProjectRiver has made it pretty clear that, except for in very exceptional circumstances, there is no recourse to the Courts, and those exceptional circumstances wouldn’t embrace the kind of re-run of proceedings what we’d likely be after.
I have the same reservations as KSSS. We can get super-excited on here by news that City (perhaps correctly) believe the PL’s case is piss weak, but they’re picking the man who picks the tribunal, so the chances of a bent charade, with the ‘high bar’ lowered to the point that Tyrion Lannister could limbo under it, cannot be dismissed out of hand. Be upbeat at what we’ve heard today, but don’t bet everything you’ve got on it just yet.
I think that's extremely unfair and disrespectful tbh.I have never believed we'd have no recourse in dealing with any arbitrary decision that might come our way no matter how many so called experts came on here and said otherwise. No disrespect, but a lot of what's been said on here appears to me to be fear mongering or abject pessimism or simply bad information. Maybe some or all of the above.
Probably already mentioned but this gave me a chuckle.
A better analogy would be the imposition of a penalty following alleged rule breaches which was challenged following an arbitration process on the basis @petrusha set out in his previous posts. Doesn't have to be PL and a football club. Can be any tribunal process. No, it's unprecedented.
