PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Remember Rat Boy's rant that City couldn't possibly have larger revenues than the biggest club in the world. As broken down by you above, it doesn't take a genius to work out why we surpassed the Rags from an income perspective.

One point to embellish on, as champions, I think we get a larger % share of the TV monies - "market pot" I think it's referred to???

The genuinely funny thing about this, is that City now receive more money from the UEFA pot. specifically because of the fiddling done by David Gill and his cronies. They changed the rules so that more money was given to the clubs with a higher UEFA coefficient based on "Historical Success". They brought this in because they arrogantly thought that they would always be ranked higher than City and therefore would always receive more cash. Result being now that City get richer because of their scheming !! Cheers Dave - Dick Dastardly would be proud of you. Hoisted by your own petard

i can only say from what ive heard from people around the world 'and i do travel a lot' every word on city is positive ive been aproached with people wanting to see my city tatoo, taxi drivers never stop talking about us, met a few Ukraine lads over in the states and we are their new adopted club as they have no football, never ever a bad word, is it this country that only stick the knife in?

Only in the UK would the national broadcaster be rooting for Bayern, Real Madrid and Inter Milan against its own league champions…. Just shows how bitter some of their employees are. In contrast when it’s a red shirt team the narrative is that the whole nation needs to get behind them…. Hypocrites.

I also fail to see how anyone can say that the Etihad deal is or ever was over valued ? I've just googled them and they've gone from heavy losses to declaring record profits of $296 million in the first half of 2022 ? A huge amount will be down to the increased exposure and profile give by their association with City. Is Richard Masters going to tell them they've got a shite deal ???

Spurs fans should hate their owners more than they hate us. Levy has, until recently, under-invested in their squad to a shameful degree.

I've posted this analysis before but the big 6 clubs generate a lot of free cash, which is revenue minus cash outgoings (wages, operating costs, etc). Typically, it'll be around £100m a year, give or take, for us. And Spurs will generate a fair whack. It was just over £100m last financial year.

The difference is that we re-invest pretty well all our free cash, plus transfer receipts, into our squad. Spurs, on the other hand, invested pretty well none of that. All their spending was solely financed by outgoing transfers.
They do. I'm reliably informed that barely a week goes by without an ENIC protest from the stands.

He’s actually a terrible negotiator but he doesn’t realise it.

Those that play hard ball win the odd negotiation but lose more as people just don’t engage.

At one time young prospects would sign hoping to make the big move but after seeing him refuse Kane a transfer no one will go there now.

Levy's negotiation skills are ENTIRELY due to his mates in the media and are in no way connected with reality.

He's cost his club more in failed negotiations than he's ever brought in with sales. Throwing away £80m on Kane this year and £60m two years ago is a prime example.

Summer 2018, cash strapped Aston Villa wanted £20m for Grealish and Levy offered a take it or leave it £3m + Josh Onomah.

Villa obviously left it, got taken over, and then had the money to say no to Levy's eventual £25m offer.

The next season Spurs lose the CL final because they can't break down Liverpool's defence for 85 mins with their tired attacking midfield. 3 years later Grealish is bought for £100m.

A world class player who would have done amazing things for Spurs, in a position they needed reinforcement.

Lost because Levy was an arrogant prick.

I don't understand how a player can be sold for 'more than the market worth.' Because, by definition, if someone is willing to pay more, that is the market price.

This smacks of the medieval concept of a 'fair price'. For example, eight pints of beer for a penny, enforced by law. We are massively beyond such ideas. Imagine Sotheby's auctioning a Rembrandt and the auctioneer starting off by saying: 'Ladies and Gentlemen, the maximum bid I will accept is seven million pounds, as that is the assessed market value.'

Of course, you can't imagine it as it would be insanity. By the same logic, someone (the Government?) should decide the 'market price' of everything, But then it ceases to be a market price.
The article lacks details but it's clearly aimed at swap deals. Barcelona were involved in 2 if memory serves me, they bought and sold a keeper and midfielder for huge money, Juventus and Valencia were the clubs involved. Both deals were as bent as a banana but suited the clubs for short term financial requirements. Looking at all 3 clubs now it's the equivalent of a payday loan and the man is at the door looking for his money.

I‘ve no idea how many fans City have worldwide but whatever the number, I’d find it difficult to believe it was more than Man Utd’s global fan base.
At the moment I don't give a monkeys' about the rags global fanbase, or any other clubs' fanbase come to that.
All that matters to me is that City have got the 3 most prestigious trophies in world football in our possession.
