PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Chelsea self reported -admitted numerous wrongdoings from the Abra era for which Uefa looked at and quickly handed a 10m euros punishment. why is is taking long months for PL to charge them and hand out punishment over same things. not much investigation needed, as Chelsea admitted these things. strange payments, accounting trick, tricks around agent fees etc.
this is all before some Cyprus email leaks showed even more naughty stuff done in the Abra era which would need the Spiegel style investigation haha based on leaked emails.

this all before you take into account any additional recent PL FFP issues they certainly might have with the crazy spending in last 3 years which is hard to see how they wont fail despite these 9 year contracts loopholes especially as results on the pitch do not improve much and facing 2 full seasons without CL revenue (this season and next one).

also the lack of media pressure on getting these charges brought forward is telling as well. even the whatsapp group is very quiet on Chelsea.

It is a really strange situation they find themselves in, because the backdrop to this is the plateauing of the TV rights deal (domestically at least). The 'product' they sell is the very one they're currently undermining in a desperate attempt to circumvent an independent regulator. The whole thing stinks of politics in the worst possible way.

Basically, the league was never broken, and there was nothing that needed fixing. Money into the league from super wealthy owners does not have a detrimental effect on the league as a whole. On the contrary it simply strengthens the position as the best and most successful league in the world. Trying to reign in 'investment' via this sort of punishment is objectively nonsense.

All of that isn't to say that Moshiri was clearly a front for Usmanov's money and him becoming persona non grata fucked Everton - but the league as a whole allowed the Moshiri/Usmanov deal to go through same as they let the Saudis buy Newcastle. I've got no idea what Richard Masters end game is here.
apart from from being pushed into a spot he probably didn't want to go to by certain clubs who want a particular status quo to return?

Masters is an idiot and doesn’t have an end game and has sleep walked the premier league and the three professional leagues below it into a disaster. We now have a situation where clubs are now too scared to spend money which has been demonstrated in this transfer window. The trickle down effect will impact clubs lower down the pyramid in this country.

They have completely undermined their product by allowing this investigation to be live for four years and also charges that have been sat there for a year with no hearing happening whilst City have dominated English football in that time. Either outcome for the Premier league now will be a disaster, will tv companies come rushing back with money if City and Chelsea (the two most successful clubs in the last decade) are removed from the league? Masters and his cronies are painted right into a corner here and must be regretting what a fiasco this is turning into.

Does the indictment of Lewis in the Supreme Court on insider trading mean there funds are classified as a breach?
I imagine that they’ll say ‘that’s outside our scope of investigation and being dealt with separately by authorities in that field’

Nothing to see here, move along people. Or words to that effect.

Spot-on. Masters has finally managed to ruin his own product by making it virtually impossible for external investment which has subsequently reduced the amount of money circulating in the game. No business can survive without fresh investment. This will damage all clubs down the pryamid. And still nothing has been done to control debt which is the main reason all businesses go bust.
The PL has played into the hands of its enemies at La Liga and Italy and opened the door to a European super league. The PL has launched an investigation into City's finances going back to 2008 which would present a challenge for the FBI let alone a three-man panel of lawyers. Masters is a moron.

ok, have I missed this somewhere, can you provide a link of the FBI investigation? - googling FBI Manchester City Investigation, doesn’t show anything that is about us

Somehow that makes betting on stacks and shares with insider knowledge legal.
How can this secrecy be seen as ok compared to openly traded oil money?
