PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Can't help but see that Newcastle takeover has put the familiar American ownerships (Joe Lewis/Levy/Spurs too) arses into panic mode. Landscape not helped at all with Roman being replaced with Bohely.

Us finishing 4th last season ahead of Liverpool, Spurs, Man U was probably considered a full-on act of war.

Jamie Reuben did a podcast interview at the end of last season and said that the reception from one particular club was far from welcoming. To the point representatives/higher-ups were being openly hostile and aggressive to Staveley whilst she was in their company watching the game. Hasn't taken too much to read between the lines, and conclude it was during a 2-1 win at Spurs!

This summer's introduction of fair market value was a direct response to our announcement of SELA (Saudi events company) as a shirt sponsor. Signing up with Adidas as one of their lead brands for next season can't have gone down too well either.

The spotlight on multi-club ownership has come about from the familiar names going into a January window without a pot to piss in when it comes to FFP, and shit scared Newcastle were going to be suddenly donated a raft of talent from Saudi. Which was never, ever the case, or ever going to be.

The American ownerships can't be too happy with your guy's carry on, but their current panic will be the current FFP model's ability to hold back the money waiting to be spent into Newcastle. The damn will burst, and it's not as strong as they like. The thought of Newcastle being able to spend another £300M on their squad scares them - as they know we'll not spunk it up the wall and still finish 8th.
The common denominator here are Spurs! According to all the rumours it was Levy that pushed this

Suits him the most. Get the stadium paid off while revenue streams build (NFL, concerts etc), survive / satisfy PSR (if still applicable) off the Kane transfer fee the next 2 seasons with moderate re-investment in the team to keep within touching distance of the top 4 and just as turnover increases what do you know the new 70% max ratio player costs relating to this comes in and they're big players in the market.

Bar one game I've enjoyed watching Villa this season, ideal chance next year for them to push on but they won't be able to as all part of this masterplan. Anyone know if we have a sell on % clause on Douglas Luiz when he moves in the summer (assuming here we don't buy back of course)?

The multi-club ownership stuff from Levy is fucking rich considering it's exactly how he ended up in the door at Spurs in the first place. He and Joe Lewis were owners at Prague, Athens, Basel, and Rangers too I think by the time they brought into Spurs when Sugar was the owner.

It's just that sort of hypocrisy and gatekeeping fucks me off.

Just hope our chairman back in Saudi has a quiet word and turns off the taps this summer when it comes from buying from these clubs that are so clearly against PIF's interests in growing Newcastle. Nobody in Europe will be queuing up to buy the next batch of Koulibaly, Mendy or Kante's at full whack from Chelsea! It's obvious Man U will be hoping to flog Varane and Casimero to Saudi to balance the FFP.

Bit of a rant - but it's just adds to the wider fume. Newcastle have funds to spend, but can't/not allowed whilst those who are actively trying to block us spending are pissing money away. Heads would roll (pun intended) if Ashworth and the transfer team signed off on Casimero - 30yo, 300k a week for 4 years

The claim against City probably has more legs in the even of the breaches being proven. However, there is no quantifiable loss.

You've still got what you paid for I.e. the entertainment and experience of watching matches.
Right, that's it... I'm making a claim against the club for the 18 months they saw fit to employ Pearce as a football manager.

According to the criteria laid out above I only received half of what I paid for!

Well, yes, you've made things even worse from their part. The American owners aren't really interested in trophies, they want solid, dependable cashflow. And the big problem with that is that the amount of cash goes up exponentially if you're in the Champions League - we earned about £100m extra from our participation. United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea had the four places sewn up between them for years and could rely on that money. Now, with City and now Newcastle threatening to make it 6 from 4 (and yes, its possible a Spurs or Villa team might intrude for a while), their chances of being in lower European comps or even missing altogether is huge.

And so that multi-million per annum prize is what they're fighting for now. I'd be surprised if they really cared about winning trophies, its the cash and sponsorships that count...

The story about Spurs rings true. Levy is pure poison when it comes to City. He must be keeping his head down now his boss (Joe Lewis) has been convicted of insider dealing. Remember Levy owns 30 per cent of the shares in ENIC(which owns Spurs) so he has a lot at stake.

...or the two seasons that Sheffield United were in the PL owned by local businessman done good Abdullah Bin Mosaad Al Saud.

It's nothing to do with 'muh Saudi Arabia', and everything to do with preserving the status-quo. I'm sure you as City fans have been through this all before!

The PL is more than happy for everyone to get their pitchforks out at the thought of Saudi PIF Newcastle actually running a football club properly though. Would have been a very different story if Eddie Howe got someone like West Ham, Villa or even Spurs 4th spot!

Barely a single column inch made on Amanda Staveley making Newcastle's women professional - despite being way outside the top Super League, or her attending every home game. Surprising that, Women's football now covers Guardian and BBC Football homepages, all over Sky.

The PL allows itself to be lobbied by influential ownership structures that if they had it their way would axe relegation, and introduce a play-off season played thousands of miles away in their Fenway Park or fucking the Bud Light Bowl.

I'm not sure how Chelsea post-Roman and Man U make such a pig's ear by having so much money.

Croydon Ultra's won the award for the biggest bunch of useful idiots! Just hope none of them got a Uber to the ground, has a Facebook account or Disney subscription.

You are looking at it the wrong way CM69. Lilke paintings etc you are paying more for the rare/ limited edition ones. The Pearce teams ability not to score make the goals scored rare collectors items, we could have been asked to pay a premium for performances that only come about once in a blue moon;-)
