PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think there was a post yesterday pointing out that of all people, Liverpool fans more than any should be wary of believing the headlines in the press before all the facts are known. Also, that proper justice takes time. To that extent the comparison with Hillsborough is apt - innocent until proven guilty etc.
Exactly.
It's very ironic that a fanbase that despise and banned a certain newspaper for printing alleged lies because of that, believe everything they read and hear in the media about us. YCMIU!

Not a huge surprise that the vote passed - I can't think what benefit anyone outside the European spots would have to not reduce the effect of the extra income.

Villa look like they'll make 4th (I do hope they do), so they would naturally not want to hamstring themselves.

14 votes to pass it though if no-one abstained - so one of the 'big 6' voted for the idea.
Spurs at a guess

What the fuck have Luton towns commercial and tv revenues got to do with what we can afford to spend? Completely unrelated, and yet another pathetic attempt to derail us.

Also it means we can’t compete against actual bankrupt cunts like Barcelona. Fucking EPL madness

They have financial controls in La Liga. Barcelona's limit is something like £170m. They obviously spend more, so they're under strict rules about what happens to any extra money they raise, which is why they're going for free transfers, and have been asking players to take pay cuts.

Real Madrid have a limit well over £600m, so they're probably the only club in the World that we'd be unable to compete with under these rules.

It's obvious why City opposed though - our income has jumped a lot over the last couple of seasons, and we're right up against this limit now, so would be stuck with money we can't spend.
