PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Our fantastic bargains go unnoticed too. Akanje £15m, Julian A £16m, Ortega free and our free men from the academy, Phil, Rico, Oscar. 6 of the current senior squad cheap as chips.
So true we hear a lot about 50m full backs, but these deals never get mentioned, wonder why?

FFS, you'd think we rose from Manchester Sunday league Div. 7, we finished 9th in the PL the season before ADUG took over.
A Liverpool fan in work said the same thing to me. He said that City were a yo-yo club through our entire history. I told him that only Everton, Liverpool, United, Villa, and Arsenal have spent more time combined in the top flight league than City. United have only spent 4 years more combined than City in the top flight. If not for our late 1990s relegation craziness, then City would still to this day have been in more top flight seasons than United.

United spent nearly exactly half their pre world war II existence in the second tier of football. That's a fact that they don't talk about.

City spent most of their time pre world war II finishing above United. (City = 28 United = 15)

Liverpool spent a decade following world war II in the second tier, and only escaped after getting their own sugar daddy, again something that their fans don't like talking about.

City won the FA Cup 4 years before United and 61 years before Liverpool.

City won the League Cup 22 years before United and 4 years before Liverpool.

City were the 4th English team (Spurs-> West Ham -> United -> City) to win a European trophy via a UEFA tournament 3 years before Liverpool won a UEFA tournament

Rival fans who pretend that City were a Wycombe style rising, just don't know what the hell they're talking about. They're pathetic and jealous. They think that it hold themselves up as being great by trying to tear others down, ignoring the fact that they usually use incorrect information, or are straight up knowingly lying about what they're saying.

Fuck them.

Couple that with an owner who takes little from the City preferring to grow the company value.

No wonder the likes of United have such massive debt when they service a demanding owner and his family and overvalued players who rarely perform..

I was thinking in the event we are found guilty of any of the charges it is likely Netflix may well produce a documentary.

I was then thinking about a title and came up with;

‘The Dark Side of the Bluemoon’

To finish it off the credits could also roll to the sound of ‘Money’.

I am of course indebted in no small part to Pink Floyd.

This is just wrong.

The clamour to find us guilty is led by the media, but that's not because they hate winners. It's because a clamour to find us guilty generates significantly more revenue than would a clamour to find us innocent.

The media are in it for themselves - for the money.

This works in a number of ways. Self evidently, there is much more engagement in anything that says 'City are guilty' than in the opposite. This is because fans of the most popular teams all want us to be guilty, therefore will engage more actively with anything that reflects that. Every single media outlet with any serious presence has explored the 'City are Guilty' story from numerous angles, and they have all gone down very well with a lot of people who get to read the stories they want to read.

Of course, it is not just a question of what gets clicks. The stories that are planted and leaked, they are done by individuals with their own agenda. What might be in it for the journalists writing this stuff up? Access? Further leaks? Off-the-record briefings? There is a long history of journalism being a two-way-street - you scratch my back etc.

The important point is that this is not some particular quirk of the British people. There are vested interests at work. That is why there is such a clamour to find City guilty.
The daft thing is. On the Rags, Scousers, Tarquins and spuds Forums they are absolutely convinced we have the press in our pocket. No one is reporting on us as our Owners are controlling the reporters.

Sounds about right, the same with our transfers, they become big stories with signing on and agents fees etc. What is never mentioned is that over the last few years we have received over half a billion incoming to balance the books, which most opposition fans seem unaware of. probably because it's a story that doesn't get the engagement.
We've qualified for the CL 13 years running, no other English club has done that.
So to do that means we've finished in the Top 4 in all those years.

That adds up to a lot of money every season, but to the red top fans, generating income like that is not doing it the "right way" apparently!

And whenever I mention these to a rag or dipper all I ever get back is that is the fee we reported, doesn't include their 2nd wages off the books, the secret accounts we drop money into and the huge agent fees that we hide.

Great post

Yes, we would be silly to let them know all that.
