Well, it finally happened to me today.

After playing football on a Sunday as normal the conversation switch to the Arsenal game this afternoon, just the usual good natured banter about who would win and so on, The one Rag threw in the "doesnt matter anyway once you cheating cunts get thrown out of the league" Now we have all heard this before but this time is was said with some venom and not at all meant as banter. There were a few comments back and forth and others suddenly jumped in as well. Within a minute I was facing a full on rant from 3 people with genuine anger aimed towards me. Now these are lads that I have known for years, not close mates but friends none the less. It was very close to coming to blows at one point and it was a very uncomfortable experience for me.

It does make me fear for what will happen should be be cleared of these breaches, there are a lot of very angry people out there who aren't going to be happy should it go in our favour.

Great post overall but, you especially will know that the viewing money is in America where I believe we're the most watched side these days...of course tv figures will just follow who is winning but we are top of the tree at the moment.

It’s tough. There is no excuse for that behaviour just because something doesn't go their way. Obviously not your friends.

They’re going to be disappointed again. The thing is, say we were relegated, they would still be crap and above just one more team. They are actually angry at their own team but taking it out on another.

Just nasty people. We will not be blamed for other team’s bad decisions.

When we are found innocent they will be furious for a bit as another dream is smashed, but they will crawl under their rock again soon enough.

Same for me today. In the Red Lion near Lowton, dipper cheered their first goal, I said ‘come on City!’ and he said it doesn’t matter ‘cos you’re getting relegated anyway. Told him not to believe what he reads in The Sun! Bit of handbags ‘til the wife told me to sit down then he fucked off.
