PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Oi, I'm not slow! I did some odds compiling when I worked at the William Hill Regional Office in Stockport, it was more local events, like non league football or greyhound races and the bets would be restricted to regular punters and for a maximum liability of around £20 (it was over 40 years ago).

It's was incredibly difficult to price up ante post events in those days, if a stranger walked into a shop and wanted a bet like yours they'd be either refused, given the selection at lesser odds and/or the stake would be restricted.

For events like Miss World back in those days bets would be only laid to a stake of £10 or to win no more than £50 dependent on who the punter was.

Can you remember the name of your 100/1 placed horse?
I’ve racked my brain for it but it was a long time ago (30 years at least) and I was a big punter then. I seem to remember the SP was about 33-1. My bookie commented that a few regulars had picked it. I was certainly not guessing, 100-1 seemed ludicrous to me, hence the punt.
When I say I was a big punter, I mean prolific, not huge stakes. I think I would have had £2 - £5 on it or thereabouts.

I had seen something saying that all the main players were asked to be available for a 10 week period. Obviously it becomes a nightmare if it were to over run as getting the required people to be available at the right times will conflict with other responsibilities. Lord Pannick is never sat on his arse in the office waiting for the phone to ring for his next gig for example.
Don't worry, he's got his best man on it...

Will the verdict/result be straight up guilty/not guilty for each charge or will it be a big write up and up to city/prem league to pick the bones out of it?

Those were the days when you got quarter of the odds for a place as well, not the stingy one fifth the odds of today.

So shouty man, aka foghorn Jim has quite recently been talking about bullying.
If the rumour is correct, that City have been cleared of all charges, will he be at the vanguard of hordes rushing to apologise for the blatant, media led, systemic bullying that has been taking place since...... well, forever?
I await his contrition with interest.

(N.B. The same applies to his co host)

If City have been cleared the Merseyside branch of the Samaritans better put the overtime back on.

You must have missed the Mahrez, Ederson, CAS outcome and train sagas
Players denying stories feels par for the course and I thought the CAS stuff was perfectly acceptable reporting. Must admit the train stuff is beyond me and no one is getting me up to date. Like I say, I reckon some criticism is fair and loads of it is unfair. I don't think he's inventing stuff, someone pretty high up in the club thinks the case is going very, very well. It's good news!

CAS stuff was aceptable ? You must be joking , he hedges his bets every time he mentions us , tweets that cover every possible outcome , when did he last get anything right ? He is not a trusted source by the club or anyone else connected to us

Does anyone know when can we expect the result of this court case? Is it going to be before the end of this year or at the end of the season?

It’ll be not guilty but there will be lots of other words for people to selectively pick to make it look like we are guilty
Just came across a picture of Pep behind bars with the word 'Guilty' and an exclamation mark. I am getting very concerned about this sort of Shite.

I could have said that tbf , all the bollocks about the grass being too long and such were never sticking and were always getting dropped . It still comes down to the three big charges as it has all along
Not really. I highly doubt his source was referring to the grass being too long, etc. And as @ayrshire_blue points out in the post below mine, those initial mistakes were quickly ironed out by the PL.

There was never ever a charge of the grass being too long. Initially when the charges were released, that was one of them, but only because they released the charge number from the wrong season's handbook, it was (fairly) quickly amended to clarify the correct charge - nothing to do with the grass.
