PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I find it worrying just how far and wide their reach is (no pun intended).

Reach plc (known as Trinity Mirror between 1999 and 2018) is a British newspaper, magazine and digital publisher. It is one of the UK's biggest newspaper groups, publishing 240 regional papers in addition to the national Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror, The Sunday People, Daily Express, Sunday Express, Daily Star, Daily Star Sunday as well as the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail and the magazine OK! Since purchasing Local World, it has gained 83 print publications.

Legacy media has been dead for years.

well the assumption there is that we were paying him twice and that his consultancy role with abu dhabi was a sham, in which case the accounts we submitted would not be accurate and therefore would be false accounting.
Where, in reality, it could be classed as creative???:-)

doesn't stress me out.

Just saying I wouldn't wanna be a hypocrite when I know how much we would be tearing into other clubs if it was them and not us.

i will see how it plays out. I'm confident we can beat it, just saying it's worth exploring other options incase we are guilty.

Or maybe I'll stick with it, it's not the players fault, but I'll still be very disappointed at the people who run the club.
So, you're confident that we're guilty as charged then?

thats assuming he didnt actually hold a consultancy role within abu dhabi, im not sure why the idea of him or anybody else holding two similar positions is such a mind blowing concept, but yes if thats what it was used for it could be used as a creative way of topping up his salary but so could a multitude of other ways so it doesnt effectively mean anything.

If we are genuinely found guilty, I'll be extemely disappointed in the club. I've always felt the club was operated correctly.

Did we use money to get to where we are? Yes, it played a big part but also because the club had made good decisions with that money. If we find out we broke so many rules along the way, that would be shameful.

Let's be honest, if this was United, we would be tearing into them non-stop. So we can't really expect to be call anything other than cheaters if we are guilty, because we would do exactly the same, let's not pretend otherwise

Not sure how I'll feel about supporting any longer if it emerges we won that we did while not playing by the rules.
We "broke" rules that they invented that were intended to prevent our rise to the top in order to keep the Cartel Clubs in their lofty positions of dominance.

At worst it would be naivete on behalf of our owners to think they could hoodwink the PL, but "disappointed"? FFP is a bullshit idea that doesn't protect clubs from poor owners from being financially irresponsible, otherwise let's, indeed, look at United.

and as i have always said when i see the police or HMRC knocking at the door then ill be worried, but weirdly there hasnt been any idea of that happening, false accounting is a criminal offence and that is what we are being accused of.
To be honest I would expect their involvement to start after we gave been 'proven' to have been guilty of illegal practice ... so after the football enquiry

why, if the evidence was there of impropriety what would be the benefit to the pl of witholding that evidence until after the enquiry had taken place, if the police were onside it would only strengthen the idea that we were in the wrong.

I’m not sure the HMRC will be bothered if the net affect of any possible doing has been to increase revenues to the exchequer.

I think we will be cleared of the main charges btw.

I very much doubt Levy will know anything. He's probably just as much of a city hating mardarse as Jordan is. Football is a very small community you're right and it seems it consists of the red cartel and the nonce Levy.
If we was in the shit then every tabloid would be shouting it from the rooftops. As there is nothing I'd say the ball is in our court.
Everyone involved will now have a good idea of the consequences.

And for us no news is good news.

Why wait, do us all a favour and f**k right off.

Surely the PL investigation prejudices any criminal investigation or certainly any court proceedings and in any event that would take priority plus I know it’s a different burden of proof but I don’t see how it can look right getting done on one and off on the other so to my mind the Criminal would happen first not last

Where are HMRC up to with the tax disputes with other Premier League clubs players and agents ? Surely any tax dodge affects PSR where is the backwards investigation into United etc ?

Our players won because they gave their all. We don’t need “fans” like you -so, as you can only stomach the good times, go back to your last glory club.
