PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Except that Stefan's claiming City as well as the PL should have handled the court process better -

“I think this could have been agreed with all the parties. I have said it right from the start there should have been a published timetable, at least with estimates as to when we can expect the hearing itself, the decision to come out, the next phase, and the explanation of what the process is.

Something that’s very significant not just to the future of football but to the future of Manchester City employees because you would think that, if a lot of this stuff goes against City, then there would have to be some adjustments to City’s cost base, which as we know from what’s happened at United can involve real people and real jobs.

“I don’t think it’s been well handled in that respect and I don’t think that there was a particular problem in giving a bit more guidance as to when we could expect the decision to come out.

“We sit here today thinking this week would have been a possible time to release it. Next week could be a possible time to release it. But equally, it is perfectly plausible that this doesn’t come out until the summer or even later, so we really don’t know.

“I can tell you from lots of conversations I’ve had over the last week, nobody knows. This is a very well-kept secret, and nobody has got any indication of definitively when it’s coming. Nobody believes that it’s close because of things they’ve heard.

“That’s not to say it won’t come today. It may come today, but if it is coming today, it’s not because two or three people in the media or close to the club have heard it’s really close. It will just drop.

A slap on the wrist, and a warning not to do it again.

Irrelevant, anyway. A work colleague has a brother in Manchester. And HIS hairdresser's girlfriend's driving instructor's landlord's son is an ITK and is convinced that we'll get off be found not guilty. Remember where you heard it first.

But that's with regards to the secrecy around the release of the verdict, not that the club or even the league mishandled something with regards to the evidence or lack thereof.

Granted, nobody could know that.

Trusting the club are acting in a professional manner after the fact having see the proceedings play out in front of them and believing that the club could be more open with regards the timetable of events are too different things.

Pretty much. Like everybody, people know what they have been told. But that's it. Whether what they were told was true or not, or whether it was misinterpreted by the teller or the tellee, nobody knows apart from a handful of people in the club. Possibly less than a handful.

Unless someone says they were talking to one of those people and are sure they weren't getting the wrong end of the stick, then everything should be taken as speculation imho.

And the chances of that happening, again only imho, is pretty close to zero.

Again, imho, it's still a fair bit too early for a finalised judgment. But what the fuck do I know?
 
So in summary, the speculation is not correct and instead we are left with a 24/7 vacuum with no information at all?

The leaks that say it’s imminent are wrong?

The leaks that say the previous leaks are wrong is right?

Why don’t we all admit it’s utter tosh.

The verdict is either done or it isn’t. The club know or don’t know.

Ban the leaky fuckers -:)

many many years ago I did a job for said musician - he and his people at the time were really really strong on going after people who touted that old fake conspiracy story that Paul had died in secret. Literally, men in dark suits, turning up at the front doors of repeat offenders with extremely persuasive 'cease and desist orders'...

That "Nobody believes that it’s close because of things they’ve heard" sounds a bit worrying to me.
