PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I'm beginning to suspect that the whole thing is a ruse. The entire football, media, judicial, and opposition fan base populations have all come together to construct the biggest wind-up of all time on the members of a little Man City fan forum.
They are all giggling at how long we will go before the penny drops.... :(

The realistic side of me says @slbsn has as little idea as the rest of us. And I say that with the greatest respect. Of course, I could have little idea of what I am talking about .....
With respect the idea that all opinions on such a complex matter are equal is obviously wrong. Likewise, it depends on who someone speaks to. For all I know someone on here is in Simon Cliff's office. Clearly their view is more accurate. But the idea it is all binary - know something as fact vs know nothing is ridiculous.

I have stated definitively at various times that I KNOW no decision was in (sometimes in response to claims to the contrary) and I think people can see that was correct at the time.

I probably shouldn't have been so specific in but I stand by the likely imminence of the decision whether by 30 September or into October. I don't think we have long to wait now.

All that would be fair criticism if I had said any of that. But I didn't (or at least, I didn't intend to if that's the way it came across). In fact, in a later post in the chain, when the op said he had always taken your view as gospel, I said:

"I never take anyone's word as gospel. Especially these days. I take everyone's view on board and come to my own conclusions. Often wrongly, but at least they are my own work :)"

"Clearly more weight is given to people who know what they are talking about. I am just not sure, when it comes to timing and what is going on behind the scenes, if anything at all, that anyone knows anything apart from, say, ten people on the planet who aren't going to spill the beans."

My original post wasn't about the likely timing of the release, but on the view that the longer it takes the more concern there is about a positive outcome for the club. That is where I differ, simply for the reason that I cannot imagine any situation where the PL has sufficient evidence to prove the most serious allegations to the standard required. So, to be consistent, I am inclined to believe that a longer than expected wait for the release, if indeed there has been one, is more likely due to something else going on that none of us know about. I stick by that. Perhaps wrongly, but ho-hum. It won't be the first time.

By the way, I added you into my reply just because I don't like talking about people behind their backs, as it were, not to be provocative. In case the intention was misinterpreted.

I believe deep down we know the bit that “no one knows about” & that’s because they are somehow trying to find a win win situation. The only way you can possibly get that is for City to be cleared & the premier league not to come out of it too badly. I know we’ll be told it’s out of everyone’s hands but I think that’s naive, especially when you’ve got world leaders & the UKs highest profile industry.

5718 pages and Donald rumsfeld gets it.

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know."
