PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Cities accounts are usually signed off in the first 10 days of October

23/24 8/10/24
22/23. 10/10/23
21/22. 7/10/22
20/21. 1/10/21

Then you have the dates they are filed at Cos House
23/24. 10/3/25
22/23. 4/4/24
21/22. 5/4/23
20/21. 4/3/22

Clubs are obliged to publish results on their official website. The dates below may be a day or two out but they are certainly within a week of them first appearing

23/24 13/12/24
22/23. 15/11/23
21/22. 7/11/22
20/21. 12/1/22
I don't think there is a rule to publish accounts on the website (if there is please point to it - no made up ChatGPT please). But regardless there is no time limit to do so within any period after signing off. Many clubs file on the last possible day having signed off months before. We know all clubs need to sign off accounts by 31 December yet most do not release until the statutory deadline.

In any event, the truth is far simpler. As of earlier this week (not sure about right now), nobody had the decision. In short, this "theory" is all nonsense.

BTW I do agree with the theory that if City were concerned about an adverse finding, they would be keen to get the accounts finalised sooner rather than later - just far simpler to copy last year's disclosure as we await the decision. So perhaps they aren't that concerned.

Checks thread, sees these, logs out and gets on with daily life.

Cheers!

The licence applicant must publish on its website or on the website of its licensor by the date (which cannot be later than the date of the submission of the list of licensing decision to UEFA) and in the form communicated by the licensor:

  1. the audited annual financial information for the last reporting period assessed by the licensor; and
  2. the total amount paid in the latest reporting period to or for the benefit of agents/intermediaries

Yup, agree, Stefan makes life easier for all of us with his explanations/observations.

Btw, seeing as we're now up to page 5959 on this thread, I idly typed that number into my 'Search' function and it came up with the following:

"In Numerology, Angel number 5959 symbolizes good news on the verge of arrival. You will finally experience a sense of comfort and peace soon"

I know that Numerology/Astrology and stuff like that is a load of bobbins/nonsense, yet we can but hope, what..?!

Hows the Chelsea PROVEN cheating case going?

That is the UEFA rule and not the PL rule and has no requirement to publish quickly. There appears to be no PL rule at all on the topic. It is therefore a red herring for this theory especially as some clubs just put a link to companies house which are often filed in April of the following year. The deadline for this appears to be 30 May the following year. So just 6 months left on that for City if they qualify.

Given the books were submitted earlier this year(?), unless the decision was handed out beforehand then it wouldn't affect these accounts surely?
No - nothing submitted at this stage for 30 June YE. The only thing not known is whether the accounts have already been signed off in October or whether they are being kept open pending news
