PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Given the books were submitted earlier this year(?), unless the decision was handed out beforehand then it wouldn't affect these accounts surely?

A negative outcome wouldn't affect the numbers but, hypothetically, it would need a note disclosure for "post-balance sheet event", possibly an update to a contingent liability note in the accounts for the award and any potential damages to other clubs and, hypothetically, if the award was so seriously negative that it jeopardised the future of the club then the auditors would need to address its impact on going concern.

But none of that is going to happen, of course, so as you were.

Edit: Oh yes, I forgot, all this talk of dates is just bollocks and gives too much weight to the opinion of a complete idiot who is trying to develop an internet "expert" presence on the back of the 115.

Im sure this has already been mentioned but the decision to award the etihad some of the England games in 2028 surely is a good sign, I’m sure the international footballing bodies wouldn’t want to be associated with a dirty oil cheating club
Oh yeah, whiter than white UEFA not a chance they would ever want to be associated with anything that has any stale smell about it!
I think the reality is we were chosen BECAUSE we are facing charges!
Somebody claimed the same when Viagogo became an "official ticket partner" (whatever the fuk that is), laughable really.

Seems to be some white noise about the alleged charges.

I went on Google for something and it was the top story. All regurgitated stuff but there's obviously something on the wind.
International break, City closing in on Arsenal, Scousers traumatised from the weekend are all potential triggers for this. Personally I don't think we'll hear anything until the season is over.

Bottom line is there is no rule requiring City to publish before 31 March on Companies House and on its website not before May (if they qualify for UEFA).
Well strictly speaking there is a specific rule requiring companies with an ARD of 30th June to publish before 31st March, as if that date is a Saturday or Sunday you have to have delivered those accounts before 31st March. The key word is "delivered" as CH actually publish the accounts and it may be a few days before those accounts are published after they're delivered.

I accept this is somewhat pedantic but as you're keen on correcting people I thought you'd be happy for me to point this out.

Either way, PL clubs don’t have to publish accounts aside from Co House. Those teams given a uefa licence for the subsequent season ie after the season ends have to publish their accounts. It doesn’t apply to all PL clubs. I doubt this was the rule you had in mind but fine. Bottom line is there is no rule requiring City to publish before 31 March on Companies House and on its website not before May (if they qualify for UEFA). So nothing can be read into this especially as the truth is as said above - the decision wasn’t in as of earlier this week.
Whilst your hear what happened to September and October being "prime verdict territory"? What's the current "prime verdict territory"?

I think if (and it's a big if) we are to get an announcement this international break, then Monday morning seems the most likely time which would probably mean the parties receiving the verdict today to check over the weekend. Maybe there'll be some whispers in the next day or so, but I'm not holding my breath. Crazy to think there's a good chance this will now run into 2026.

If this goes into 2026 then I'm going to find it hard to believe there aren't any discussions going on behind the scenes - involving the regulator/government.

It's genuinely ridiculous that nothing has yet come out, and to be honest, it's starting to worry me a bit.

Difference is I try to correct outright fabrications, material mistakes and fictional conspiracy theories. I can understand that this offends some people who prefer to live in such worlds.

But very happy for you to point out the difference between delivered to and published on Companies House. For those interested, you could also explain the difference in publication times between a physical delivery and an online submission.

Clearly, I think we are beyond prime verdict territory. Especially so if it doesn't come next week. Beyond that I would say we are in overdue territory. And?

BTW the word is "here"

There are no discussions

After 1 year we are no nearer a published outcome.

But as a study of pointscoring, one upmanship, just below the skin irritation, and itk tensions, it has been spellbinding.

Mix into the recipe the odd troublemaking insurgent, lottery guesses, and accounting subtleties it has ensured a classic dish.

Some days I wake full of confidence, "Everything gonna be alright", dreaming of a Blue Wembley, others full of doom, a nightmare for the scramble to obtain a ticket for Wycombe, the end of seat counting, "You know what you are" chants, a righteous Dan Roan.

"It's the not knowing that kills you"

Agree with all. Parties don’t have the decision and if not today, it’s hard to see how it is in this window.
