PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

This will probably annoy you and I am prepared for the inevitable backlash.

You don't KNOW anything of the sort. You only KNOW what you have been told. There are only a handful of people so involved in this process that they KNOW what is really happening on a day-to-day basis so everybody else is just repeating what that handful of people want them to hear. I don't know how high up the information chain you are - second hand, third hand (probably quite high in view of your new role) - but unless you are first hand it doesn't matter. You are just repeating something you have been told.

Framing it that way doesn't make it less useful information.

I am not questioning your assessment of what you have been told, by the way - I can imagine it's probably right - just the way you present it.
I don't care what you believe. You have no idea who I speak to but if you really think I would be so firm based on questionable, dubious or third hand information, you are a fool. Nor do I speak to one person. Your constant responses on this stuff are so tiresome. Obviously I am an idiot wasting my time sharing useful information on here when some are desperate to live in wild speculation and conspiracy but I know quite a few people are reading and are grateful.

KNOW is the right word. If it wasn't, I wouldn't use it.

I think the caveat should be “I’m led to believe” which also covers I could be manipulated, lied to, bullshitted but I believe it.
I don't need to do that on this subject - when I say I KNOW, I KNOW. Where my information is less than that, I say so. But keep this rubbish discussion going by all means. Tiresome rubbish.

The panel shortlist is in the public domain. Using AI you can reasonably eliminate less senior KCs and those with non relevant backgrounds (eg sports iinjuries), then scouring the web for their individual work loads, you can see Philips has been relatively low profile.

In a nutshell, the AI assistant came up with this...

Adjusted Relative Likelihood (After Matching Current Roles)

Relative Chair Probability
Candidate

David Phillips KC
~40–45%

Sir Gary Hickinbottom
~35–40%

Sir David Foskett
~10–15%

Others
<5%

Just a bit of fun, but my money is on Phillips...
That isn't true. It is very hard to collate the current Judicial Panel. In fact, the chair is more likely one of these people https://supremecourt.uk/former-justices such is the importance of the case. Dyson did the APT case but I am not sure if the same people are on IC shortlist.

It’s a forum, of course we’ll all say tiresome rubbish.

So effectively the Panel Process follows football ref process where 3 people make decisions between them. The contentious ones are debated by a VAR panel and decisions made.

From a legal standpoint we have 115 + decisions made by the legal Panel but each one is now being examined in detail to make sure the correct decision has been made.
Once all 115 have been been finally decided an overall result can be made.

We hope that there is no need for a legal Mr Webb to explain away incorrect VAR decisions.

And just to be clear. I don't now KNOW if the decision is out. Fridays are a likely day for distribution to the parties - it is absolutely possible it was received yesterday, for example. Is that sufficiently caveated for you?

For the benefit of others, the context of the question when I asked it (now wish I hadn't, had I KNOWN it would lead to you having a shitty morning!), was the suggestion (not even mine) of the theoretical possibly that they may have moved on to combine the liability and penalty verdicts, and whether that could be read from the perceived length to get the verdict out. To which a Friday or even the week here or there is completely immaterial.

I maintain the question was genuine, but will know, sorry KNOW, in the future what that means and what conviction it is said with. Apologies for the hassle caused.

I desperately need the verdict with in the next 6 hours or I lose the discount on my Arsenal top I've got in my basket, should we get relegated.

Is it just me or is everyone finding it really stressful picking another team?

I've been wearing blue for such a long time, so I'm fairly excited to get a new coloured uniform/jersey for my wardrobe.

In an attempt to move the discussion on, I remember the PL having a bit of a whinge about the length of time the process was taking. Have City’s side made any similar murmurings that you know of?

I’ve always thought this process begun by the PL would be self-defeating even if they won. I mean it would make a mockery of the league that a team could bypass its rules for 15 years (or whatever it is now) to gain a sporting advantage and either a) those rules were impossible to enforce within a reasonable timeframe or b) they were too far-reaching. Who’s to say that a team isn’t up to no good as we speak and we end up in another round of legal shenanigans.
