PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Good Lord.

The cheques must have stopped coming through ......

Edit: In case you missed it, the end to MacKenna's comment was

"shiny new Israel sponsor.

I think we inadvertently fall into western exceptionalism."

Can’t disagree with the dog wanker here. It’s what we’ve said all along the media makes judgement not on clubs or nations actions equally but who pays their bills.

At least 3 times but have paid over $3billion in fines to avoid criminal prosecution, the american way.
So a sports journalist with Integrity would have come up with something like

“Liverpool FC Seek New Shirt Sponsor After Yet Another ‘Minor’ Banking Mishap”

(A parody news brief)

Liverpool FC have reportedly begun “exploratory conversations” about a new shirt sponsor after Standard Chartered allegedly hinted they were “not in a position to increase the fee this year” — a stance insiders say may or may not be related to the bank “accidentally paying yet another fine for money‑laundering failures involving terrorist financing.”
For clarity: real‑world terrorist organisations cause immense harm and loss of life, and nothing in this parody diminishes that reality.

Club executives were said to be “shocked” that a bank repeatedly caught funnelling suspicious transactions might suddenly feel financially constrained.

One anonymous board member told reporters:

“We fully respect Standard Chartered’s situation. After all, if we had to pay fines that often, we’d probably struggle to afford Isak’s shooting coach too.”

To cover the sponsorship shortfall, Liverpool are rumoured to be considering a new revenue stream:commemorative candles for victims of terrorism, sold exclusively in the club shop.

Marketing materials (allegedly drafted at 3am) describe them as:

  • “Ethically scented.”
  • “Financially restorative.”
  • “A warm glow in dark times — and in the balance sheet.”
A club spokesperson insisted the initiative is “a respectful gesture with absolutely no connection to the sudden need to plug a £20m sponsorship gap.”

Even if that were the case what the fuck does the term sportswashing even mean, if its supposed to show the Arab nations in a good light its failing due to the repeated pathetic attacks by the likes of him and others. its a stupid term which doesnt actually mean anything, how in the actual fuck is the sheikh plowing 100s of millions of his personal wealth into city winning and the surrounding community benefiting abu dhabi in any way?

The arrogance of these idiots to think that these multi billionaires crave western acceptance is mindblowing.

I remember hearing years ago that sports washing was nit about showing them as happy clappy but to ensure nations were highlighted & visible to avoid being invaded & wiped off the planet….. 3 months after a conflict erupts between USA, Israel & Iran & it makes fucking sense……

Over to you Miguel

10am on Monday morning.

Here we go...

I looked at my watch. It was a minute past. A minute passed. Then, another minute passed swiftly past. And after a moment, another minute passed. I waited while a minute passed.

A minute passed. And another minute passed, followed swiftly by yet another, different minute. And then, a minute which seemed to last an hour, but was only a minute, passed.

A minute passed. Another minute passed. A further different minute. And another... and another. And another further different minute.

A minute passed......

ADUG buying City has generated far more scrutiny of Abu Dhabi’s politics and human rights record than existed among the average member of the British public beforehand.

In terms of perception it’s undoubtedly caused more harm than good for them.

But usually this is when these idiots start talking about it not just being about public perception, it’s about normalisation and ‘soft power’, business relationships and prestige and all sorts of other bollocks they fail to explain with any burden of proof how any of that is a) true or b) actually benefits the state.

It has always amongst these journalists been about hatred and envy. Fuck knows what has happened to McKenna for him to realise that him and his cronies have been pushing western imperialism all these years.
