PL & CL Squads (updated: Toure omitted from CL squad)

I don't see how this is a footballing move.

City are playing hardball, and I don't see what the end game is. Its illogical on all fronts. It is obvious that Yaya is not going to take paycut or miss out on his loyality bonus due at the end of the year. In this scenario city have two choices 1) Subsidize a move away from the club, and free up some of the wage bill 2) Utilize his talents at the club instead of paying him part wages to play for another team.

It appears City have chosen option 3 which is to be vindictive, keep Yaya around as a distraction without utilizing him as a footballer. This is horrible on financial level, football level, and does not help clubs reputation among players around the world.
There is no way City have chosen to keep a player out of vindictiveness,. It makes no sense to anyone.

I wonder if he'll ever be able to play enough garbage time to actually contribute anywhere. A few years ago if you'd have told me I'd prefer Delph to Yaya making the CL roster I'd have said you were high.

All this discussion about the dropping of Yaya from the CL list started me thinking about who will drop out for Jesus in February. Difficult decision.

Iheanacho will be eligible for the B list by then I think.

Kelechi Iheanacho (born Oct 3, 1996) joined Manchester City's Academy on 10 January 2014 - As such he has been on City's books for 2 and a half years and is thus eligible to go Manchester City's Champions League squad B-list.

According to UEFA: http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2277105.htm

His status does change on On January 10th though, he becomes eligible to be a Manchester City 'Club Trained Player' (after he reaches the age of 21).

The fact that he was put on the list as a forreign trained player tells you all you need to know about YaYa.

He would struggle to be eligible to pay without a work permit which was May 2015 - so he can't be on the B list until the final.

Are you sure it was May 2015? only he played for the EDS in February 2015, could this be possible without a work permit?
