They're going to stop us using sponsorship money too if its obviously from our owners. This is really anti-city. Where were these rules for Chelsea?

Are we supposed to now spend the next three years selling everyone we have just bought to keep Platini happy?

The Premiership will not put restrictions on us so we could be winning the Premiership but won't be allowed into the CL!!

Abramovich is an hypocritical T..t. He created the huge spending sprees and now that a bigger player has come in, he is trying to make sure that his team doesnt get pushed to one side.

The break even policy that Platini is talking about is surely for those clubs who have had to borrow to purchase players. Surely, if we havent borrowed any money (havent we paid cash?) we have no debt anyway!!

All Platini is doing is to safe-guard the clubs who have been dominant for the last few years because no other team will get the opportunity to break through (without the financial clout).

Perhaps the strategy that City are taking at the moment (i.e. bringing forward the spending spree) then concentrating on purchasing the best young talent and bringing them through the Academy is to accommodate platinis idea.

What I don't understand is why he's happy for people to borrow vast sums (which they may not be able to repay) and yet isn't happy for the clubs owners to put money in. Whatever does he think happens below the top 4? Many clubs in the Football League are bankrolled by owners when the revenue doesn't match the expenditure.

How have the 'top four' made it that way? Well, it's that regular wad of cash they get from UEFA for being in the Champions League. Which therefore makes them able to continue to afford to pay and play the top players in the world.

So along comes another club with money from a different source, other than the UEFA Chumps League money, and threatens the status quo.

HOW DARE THEY!!!!!!!

quite clearly he is protecting the top clubs,we have no bank loans no debt but acording to his statement and under the proposed rules we would be in breach of driving up wages,next on his bent agenda would be to backdate this a week before ADUG came to power,i'm quite sure our owners are on the ball with this and in the event it was to be put through the lawyers would have a legal reply
