Platini talking bollox, threatning to kick us out the waffa

"In Manchester City they can work with all the young players in Manchester and bring them to the academy and they become like Kaka."

I see, so the likes of Vidic, Cantona, Diego Forlan, Van Der Saar > (you get the idea) all came from the youth academy at the scum? Chelsea & Liverpool also have their teams packed with youth acadamey players? WE have Richards, Johnson, Wright-Philips, Onuaha, Sturridge to name but a few CURRENTLY in our first team (Johnson injured but would be considered if fit).

It's a plan by the Sky 4 nothing else.

It'll never happen. Platini likes to think he and UEFA actually have some power in football, they don't. They can't stop the Premier League from doing what they want. And as for banning teams from European competition, he'll simply be bullied by the G14 teams into backing down from this one. If he tried to implement it then the likes of United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona etc would walk away from European football and start up the European Super League that keeps being banded about. Essentially Platini would destroy European football with this rule. TV money would dry up, the biggest, richest teams wouldn't compete in 'Europe' as he envisages it. Can you imagine what pulling power a Champion's League Final between Dinamo Zagreb and Shakhtar Donetsk would have, pretty much none.

If this happened, the big teams would just fuck it off and join a Super League or something of that ilk. It's the bit about spending sensibly within their budget that annoys me considering that £100m isn't much of a dent in the budget of a guy who can make £2.6billion in a day.

I dont remember him moaning when he was playing for teams loaded with superstars. I,m glad we get up his fkn nose cos he is a grade A cnut.

Typically French, he preaches socialist principles, yet the blatant hypocracy is unbelievable.

He talks of a fair system, yet the one he is trying to protect is the most self serving system football has EVER operated under.

Champions League finance has created a near unbreakable monopoly. Where is the equality in that? We are trying to forge our way without going into debt - what exactly is the problem?

Nobody complains when Madrid, United, Chelsea seek to dominate by spending mulit-millions from postions of strength his system has created.

It can only be one of 2 things. He simply can not see the hypocracy of his words. Or, more worryingly - UEFA (and therefore his position) only exists courtesy of the very clubs he is trying to protect. They have threatened to break away before, they will again.

I think we should bear in mind the full statement from the t@#t, he also quotes the likes of the scum and Chelsea being banned, but more so he says the rule will be based on clubs who's debt repayments out balance the cost of players - hence making is safe is ever in a month of Sundays this gets approved - also he quotes a possible 3 years to enforce his wet dream!

Ajay are you drunk ;-) I follow up to "hence" !!

We could just get the owners to buy 200m worth of shirts or get their friends to sponsor the match ball for 500m. I really hate this man, horrible french tw4t.

We have only spent around 100m same as spurs and villa. What about Chelsea, United and Liverpool? They would be fucked aswell.

Surely the point is...

WE DO HAVE THE BUDGET.

We aren't borrowing any money, unlike The Stretford Devils et al who's funds are borrowed so putting the clubs in further debt...

We have no debt, just pots of cash!
He's talking about your actual earnings covering any spending. Our earnings wouldn't even cover the cost of one Kaka, let alone a whole squad. This would be a great idea if football had only been invented yesterday. However, it wasn't and the clubs that have the highest earnings (and could therefore afford the best players) are the ones that are already giants: Rags, Liverpool, Madird, Milan, Barca etc etc.

What he is basically proposing is the death of football as we know it and the intorduction of a European Super League; only he's too fucking stupid to realise that that is what the outcome would be. If such a rule was brought in, the other 16 Premier League clubs may as well pack up and go home because they would NEVER stand a chance of even competing for 4th place ever again.

The man is a complete and utter fucking twatflap.

Oh, and not that I'm complaining, but since when has Manchester been Engand's second city? Just about sums up the standard of journalism I've come to expect from Goal.com.

Ah!

Well that's even worse!

As if!

If it was that no club could go into debt to buy a player then I'll have it... Now that would ensure clubs were being sensible and that would limit spending and stop clubs like Leeds over-stretching themselves on a whim and going under...

But if you've got the cash, why not spend it? It means that the money gets distributed around the world and is ultimately spent on bringing through even more players...

I really don't understand the logic behind Platini's remarks... But he is French so there you go!

This is just protectionism at it's worst.

It'll never be allowed to happen... No way!
