42 goals in 3 seasons is fairly average. It's the return you want from a Reus for example, not an out and out striker

Messi 124
Ronaldo 110
Ibrahimovic 83
Cavani 68
Lewandowski 64

If 42 goals in 3 seasons was average, Dzeko wouldn't be in the Top 5.

It's just a convenient time frame you've chose to bring up in order for him to look better.

Sturridge has 42 as well, in less games so would be above Dzeko

What about minutes per goal ratio?

In all honesty I'd swap Sturridge for Dzeko if I had the chance but the bloke scores key goals.

Notts County away.
Blackburn away.
Wigan away the year we won the league.
2 at the swamp this year.
2 tonight.
Opener away to Newcastle this year.
Makes it 1-1 away to QPR.
Makes it 2-2 at home to QPR.
Amongst others.

Get him signed up in the summer.

A great ovation and praise should be given to Dzeko today. He has once again played another crucial role in our challenge for the title. He did a fantastic job and put his head and shoulder on the line for the team. So Well done Dzeko.

I have always said and retained that Dzeko is the best goal getter in the squad and his heading prowess, well just look at the goal at White Hart Lane two seasons ago.

Those folks that slag off Dzeko, unfairly I might add, simply do not understand certain things. Dzeko is a typical number 9, he is not Aguero but he gets into positions and scores important goals for the team. For a player not guaranteed a starting berth for the past 2-3 seasons, his goal return is pretty damn respectable.

So No!!!.................No!!! stop the unfair Dzeko criticism but the reality is that the Bosnian will never win everybody over.

Personally I think he has been a hero for the club over the past 3 years as he has constantly delivered in important and crucial moments.
Its a shame you'll never get to see the support he gets from the stands.

I don't understand your post.So you agree with me that he is unfairly criticized on this forum? or what do you mean exactly?
It doesn't matter what he gets on on here , its what he gets at the game that matters.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Once again he's scoring vital goals for us. Thank God for Edin!

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Time to stop with the he's not good enough for us rubbish,he clearly is,accept him for the type of striker he is and not keep comparing him to sergio as they are completely different
Sign a new contract Edin

No, I disagree entirely. This is a forum where people give opinions and ideas about a range of topics and issues. My issue is with what I have already mentioned pertaining to comments in this forum because the reality is that what anybody says about anything in here does not impress whatsoever on what happens on the game or what happens in the club so that is not even part of the equation.

So what happens in games or in the stands is completely different from the issue of Dzeko getting slagged off by fans in this forum.

But with respects to Dzeko I can agree that Dzeko does not know what kind of negativity he gets here unless he has a bluemoon account..you never know... and so it does not really affect him so that is a point I take but I still think it is besides the point so to speak.

Still the most frustrating player in the world but what a header that was.
I always feel like his aerial ability and size is underestimated. Yeah he looks awkward but then he changes games with leaps like the one today:

Like you conveniently forget to mention that all of them other strikers are first choice at their clubs.

Why isn't he first choice then?
