Jose Mourinho claims Luis Suarez is not worthy of his two Player of the Year awards.

Liverpool striker Suarez will collect the Footballer of the Year award at the Football Writers’ gala dinner this Thursday night, having been crowned PFA Player of the Year two weeks ago.

The Chelsea boss says his Player of the Year would be Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.

“He’s not just a goalscorer. He assists, he plays, he behaves, he’s fair, he doesn’t dive, doesn’t try to put opponents in the stands with accumulation of cards. I’d choose Dzeko,” he said.

Mourinho also claimed the footballer of the year should come from the champions.

Mourinho added: “My player of the year would be always from the champions so if that is Manchester City, I would choose Dzeko.

“He was the third-choice striker in the beginning of the season, but when the team needed him, in crucial moments of the season, he made the difference. Sixteen goals for the third striker is spectacular.
Mourinho has rated Dzeko for awhile. I think he's tried signing him before but we told them no.

Dzeko highlights from this season (not just goals).

Moaninho's comments tells me all I need to know about Dzeko.

Watching this just makes you realise what a really important player he is. He must be city's biggest unsung hero. For all the crap he gets he just gets on with it and scores some really big goals. Seems a nice guy off the pitch as well.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

I've always supported Dezko and hope he signs a new contract with us.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

I've not been complimentary about him in the past but you can't deny he scores important goals and has been our most consistent striker this season.

It looks like his goals are firing us to the title.

He is playing well and Pellegrini is bringing back his Wolfsburg form.

Selling him to Chelsea would be disastrous.

He's what? 28? Give him a 3 year extension City.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Also, regardless of how he is playing, you can never deny that he is always smiling and comes across really well in his interviews.

Re: Edin Dzeko (continued)

Could be a very interesting Summer, If Chelsea offer the right coin, a move to Stamford Bridge could be on the cards for big Ed.

Then we can buy Bony or Cavani.
