He takes little if any responsibility and is seemingly shit scared to tackle.
That's not exactly the right attitude a footballer, let alone a central midfielder, ought to have.
He's done numerous interviews saying "Oh, I know I have to improve" then his performances get worse and worse. He's a better bullshitter than a footballer at this rate.
Another season where one of our most important positions is filled with somebody who has his uses? Sorry but if we are to push on become a team that's feared throughout Europe, having a holding midfielder as poor as Fernando isn't going to help us achieve it. We need somebody who can pass the ball quickly, who can allow the more creative players to push forward without fear of leaving the back four exposed. Somebody who reads the game and is strong in the tackle. It pains me to say it but Fernado lacks in every department. Of course we can cross our fingers and hope for the best, usually though we've seen signs that the player we hoped we'd signed was in there - this lad seems to be regressing though.Ray78 said:pudge said:How so?Ray78 said:He has the right attitude.

He would of got 'found out' earlier on his career and didn't win a few medals if he didn't have the right attitude to begin with and considering this his first season in English Football I am prepared to give him another season and have seen something in his performance that he has his uses in the team.

A lot of criticism with Fernando has quite frankly been over exaggerated. Fernando's form is improving and although his passing it isn't flashy it is solid and what the doctor ordered in our side. His tackling this has been rash in a City shirt normally they are well timed.

No it's not, he's gone backwards. That early couple of performances that gave me some hope seem like a long time ago. Anybody who thinks he's getting better hasn't paid attention over the last couple of months.
and that's all down to him isn't it? Not down to a fundamental problem with our team and system, as it's never happened when he hasn't played.bluechampion7891 said:Ray78 said:Pablo1 said:Another season where one of our most important positions is filled with somebody who has his uses? sorry to jump in the middle but is it really improving? he had 0 tackles v leicester last game, and even if we put stats aside, we were carved open time after time against the bottom premier league team at home
