Gutted for Nasri major blow he'll be a massive miss. Navas will get plenty of game time now. What u recon to Chelsea lending us Mata? haha.

Sadly no chance, but a cheeky transfer bid might not be a bad thing! Or failing that how about an enquiry for Isco?!

This place just needs another isco thread, lets start one. Maybe we can get PB to tell us it's nailed on

Said that earlier. Should look into it....

Chelsea would not be as stupid as to sell us a player as we are their rivals for the title. The only deal I could envisage would involve someone like Dzeko (and surely we wouldn't be so stupid to let him join them)

Re: Samir Nasri

I'm no doctor, but I think it's safe to assume he hasn't just twisted his sock!

Fact is the fucking ref bottled it, the disallowed goal was wrong yes but he let Newcastle get away with so many fouls after that. Both Tiote and Cabaye could have been gone for 2nd yellows, and it all culminated with M'Biwa smashing the shit out of Sami. AND STILL ONLY GOT A YELLOW. We were even more hard done by the ref than Toon was in the end

Dead right. They may have been cheated out of a goal and a point, but the cost to us is potentially catastrophic. Even if it's not a cruciate ligament injury or cracked fibula, which the length and intensity of his pain suggests it probably is, Nasri could be out for a prolonged period, leaving us an injury to Silva away from the loss of our entire creative department, with a packed programme still to come. Anything more than a 3-4 week prognosis and we should go straight into the transfer market.
Bastard referee lost control of that game completely, and that cnut's foul on Nasri was both deliberate and vindictive. Doubt we'll hear about that though amid the sound of a Pardew foam fest

Absolute spot on Blue

Re: Samir Nasri

I guess this means that Navas, Milner or even Jovetic will have a big part to play from now.

Navas is capable albeit a distinctly different replacement and I actually prefer his style of play, approach and impact to Nasri's.

That said, tough luck for Nasri and it will be a shame if he misses the rest of the season and Brazil but we will hope that does not turn out to be the case.

Re: Samir Nasri

Would not be surprised to see him back next weekend.

It was a cynical challenge but he was kicked on the outside of his leg which was already in mid-air.

If someone booted you in the street you would certainly know about it.

Let's hope it's more a case of sudden pain and shock and all manner of him thinking what ifs?

Yaya looked like he had a broken ankle the way he rolled about in midweek and would put Nasri's pain threshold around the same!!

Re: Samir Nasri

Similar to the de Jong challenge on Ben Arfa and though Yanga-Mbiwa should be banned he will escape punishment. It is time for Jovetic to show why we paid £22m for him.

It's his medial ligament (MCL) guys not his cruciate (ACL).

Pellegrini says suspected, not for definite.

I've done my medial ligaments before and I can't believe it's that considering the pain he was in. It's not the most painful injury unless your knee gets bent inside to out, and Nasri's didn't. I wonder whether it might not just be an impact injury, maybe cracked fibula or patella?
