Re: Nasri - future captain/vice captain material

Hes a fiery little fucker, love his comments today about Chelsea not being that special. He's not wrong either, unfortunately we havent exactly been special ourselves at times this season ffs.

Re: Nasri - future captain/vice captain material

I'd never considered Nasri as a possibility for Captain, because Vincent has always been The Man. But I find myself agreeing with most of Tolmie's comments. Unfortunately Komps hasn't been at his best for a while, and I hope that he can regain his form before slipping down into a ravine of injuries and sloppy performances. Yaya has never shown himself to be captain material. Icon maybe, but he's not one to bring to the team into life as much as Nasri has the potential to.

Still think I'd have Zabba as vice though.

I slagged this guy off for over 18 months because he simply flattered to deceive and always took the safe option in my opinion. He's proved me badly wrong.

He has been superb for over 12 months, although his technical prowess has never been in question.

For me, he is now showing all the hallmarks of being a proper captain. He is thriving with the responsibility of being one of our main go-to guys in the last year.

He's a winner, he speaks passionately and candidly about the club and the team, he tells it how it is.

It's a decision that would surely never be made, because Komps is the figurehead, but I feel Nasri is more of a natural leader than him because he doesn't try to be someone he isn't, whereas, I feel Komps has become slightly effected and pays lip-service to the role, and it subsequently impacts performance?

Nasri is a bad loser and has the street fighting smarts of the ports of Marseille to back up is talent and mouth.

At very least, would Blues consider him a decent vice-captain, in light of the new contract he signed last year?

Regardless, Nasri deserves huge credit for turning his City career full circle and proving clowns like me wrong.

Great call mate, agree with all you say.

And I do think taking such a role would help to limit some of those perceived dips in form (although I'd always have him in the team anyway). And there is summat wrong with Komps for sure

Captain? Who can say how anyone would respond.

But I do know that I realized the guy gets way too much grief after I saw this pic a while back...

And his goals last season in the Capital One Cup Final and the last day of PL are favorite moments of mine.

Re: Nasri - future captain/vice captain material

Nasri has flourished under Pellegrini. Also the understanding between him and Silva is still improving where the side didn't seem balanced in the early days. His absence was a big factor in us not performing when he was out injured recently.
Being captainmaterial? Don't think so and I don't care tbh. As he is now and getting better will do perfectly.

He is a great player and now needs to go on and show it to the world in the Champions league.

He's done that already. Not sure about being captain but a fantastic player to have.

Re: Nasri - future captain/vice captain material

I dont think nasri should be captain. I dont think kompany should be captain. Pablo zabaleta is the man who should. Followed closely by milner. Kompany needs to be taken outof the firing line. I firmly believe tthat kompanys form is down to him trying too hard to be the leader. That and injuries ofcourse

Those saying they wouldn't want him next to them in the trenches spectacularly fail to appreciate what it takes to survive in such situations.

I'd much rather have someone next to me who had a healthy disrespect for authority, an appreciation of the situation we both found ourselves in and oodles of guile, rather than some unquestioning, pugilistic warrior who just did what he was told and talked of killing the enemy all the time.

Not only would he be much better company, but I reckon he'd significantly enhance my chances of survival.

Andy Morrison would have been dead by Christmas 1914. Why would I want him by my side?

I'm not sure there would be enough room to fit two huge personalities like yourself and our Samir in one trench, do you not think?
It's a big trench. You'd also be more than welcome to join us in my trench.
