Player Topic: Aleks Kolarov 2015/16

I've been slating him recently but last night I thought was a lot better than weeks gone by. Thought he played with more intelligence, because of the threat posed by Herrmann.

Made 3 tackles, 5 clearances, 4 interceptions, 4/5 headed duels and created 2 chances albeit from 14 crosses(including corners). So technically he was our best defender yesterday

Great performance today. He put in some fantastic balls in the 5th, 11th, 26th, 27th, 57th, and 74th minutes that could all have been goals and he constantly showed in attack. Even had time to give the linesman a rollicking at the fag end of the game. Well played, sir, well played.

agree, today was Kolarov all over; not too great at the back, got caught at least twice i can think of, but some sumptuous whipped crosses and a genuinely good overlapping attacking full back.

Meanwhile on the other flank Zaba was diving in like a madman every 5 minutes and did actually cost us a goal.

The desire of some on this forum to blame Kolarov for everything is getting silly, he's even being blamed for Sterling's loss of confidence/form by actually doing his job as an overlapping full back.
