Don't hold with the 'makers takers' argument; when it was awarded yesterday, to me it initially looked as if Bony and Sterling were looking like candidates, but then Kolarov assumed responsibility. Having missed the target, he should maybe now go down the pecking order.

With hindsight, I thought the ball should have been thrown to Bony. With further hindsight, I wonder if he'd have missed the target by even more.

Please don't be an idiot. You cannot compare the teams. Would Hinchcliffe look good in this team? Yes, better than Kolarov. You have said he is our best ever left back. That is beyond talking bollocks.

Truth is somewhere inbetween IMO. Hinchy was quality - won multiple England caps when that was actually an achievement.

But Kolarov has been excellent on the whole this season. He's tightened up on the defensive side, and think most now would start him in big games over Clichy. And to be left back in two title winning sides means you're probably at least quite good...

Having said that I never trust a left footed penalty taker.

No it's not talking b******** it's an opinion Just like those who say he is shite and the worst defender ever are entitled to their opinions whether I agree or not. Actually you can compare teams I'm not sure Hinchcliffe would look good in this team and he was part of a defence that played at a level that was light years below the level we are at now and surely must take some responsibility for that shit defence just like idiots on here blame kolarov for any mistake the defence makes on here. We were shot for thirth years and on the whole our players were generally not good enough to win anything Hinchliffe included. Kolarov has played an excellent part in our success for the last five years whether the haters like it or not.

So they are idiots for having a different opinion to you? There are plenty that think Kolorov isn't good enough. It's not just a select few.

Why? Pearce used to take pens and free-kicks as does Kolarov. Another example Leighton Baines

Great striker of the ball.

Average defensively, phenomenal going forward - creates so many chances. Absolutely key player in this team and we'd be much poorer without him. I don't think people appreciate the amount of running he does - up and down the left flank all game. Noticed in the last month he's been jogging up and down that left wing rather than sprinting as he was in the first few games. A bit tired perhaps as he must have played every game

Because it makes sense to me to have a player who was actually the penalty taker for his previous club to be taking penalties over someone who might take one in every now and again. The order should be Aguero/Toure/Bony and then if they want, Kolorov but he shouldn't be above Bony in the list. Bony has scored 5/5 of his last penalties. I'm not sure why this was overlooked.
