Player Topic: Bacary Sagna (2015/16)

He's had a great season but he causes us a problem with his poor distribution from the wide areas. Too many times moves break down after he overlaps. Zaba was like that a few years ago but he's a better option these days for me.

But Sagna has a big role this season. The days of zab playing 60 games a season are well behind him.

They way we're shit at back mate we need our defenders to defend good rather than be good at front. This Sagna is much better defensively than last season'ts Zabaleta. He is our best defensive player by a mile this season and that's even more compliment with Kompany being pretty good too.

We've only become shit at the back since all four first choices became injured. Before that we had five clean sheets on the bounce. Now he was part of that, no doubt, and played well. But the last few games we've had to chase, against teams defending, and that's where his distribution problem becomes an issue.

was our most involved player tonight, 88 passes at 75% success rate, fed De Bruyne 17 times and Navas 7 times in half an hour. Though ultimately, like you said, not creative, all 3 of his crosses went to opposition, Navas coming on added threat on that side, and De Bruyne also put in a few useful balls. He's a supplier to creative players, not someone you can rely upon, like Zaba, to find a man in the box. Tell you what though, won all 7 of his headers tonight, best on the pitch, and he's not the tallest, added to 2 blocks and 4 clearances, solid player. In contrast, Otamendi and Demichelis only won 1 out of 9 headers between them.
 
Question.. Has Sagna ever done something good like been the match winner against a Spanish team? If so did the tabloids use the pun "La Sagna".. Because if not I'm waiting for that one. Maybe against Sevilla?
 
Despite the fact he is a right back,he's a better choice than kolarov,we look much more solid with him in the team - possibly our most consistent player this season,a superb signing.
